Some slut will speak out today claiming that Kobe raped her.

Celtics in 4.

7 if the slut doesn't speak.

This one's easy.

An East coast team is playing a real West Coast Team.

Lakers in five unless the corrupt NBA rigs it for seven.

Lakers in 7 is my prediction, though I think people are way over stating how much better the Lakers are than the Celtics. Pretty excited for the finals, but I miss basketball being on every day =(.

I'm sitting here fucking praying that Paul Pierce isn't injured. I'll be fucking livid. All the idiot Boston fans will just point at that and say that's why the Lakers beat the Celtics and it will be total fucking bullshit. The game to this point has been really, really good, and this would be a fantastic series if Pierce isn't permanently hurt.

Fuck.

Garnett may be their regular season MVP, but Pierce is going to be their money man in this series. They will indeed win or lose this series depending on when he decides to step up and take it all on his back.

Two things from watching this game:

1) Their defense is just as strong against the Lakers as it was earlier in the year.

2) Pau Gasol cannot defend Garnett.

On a side note, I believe space aliens now have implanted some type of control device into Doc Rivers. That was not the same person coaching as it has been the last 3 years. Discuss.

I think the Lakers shots weren't falling for the bulk of the 4th quarter.

Much of this had to do with the Celtics defense, but not all of it.

I didn't realize Paul Pierce was such a drama queen. Who's going to fake an injury next game for some attention whoring minutes?

Regarding my anti-Winnow sports betting theory:

The Suns were a little rusty but they have some depth this year, even though the two rookies didn't get into the game. Phoenix has a great chance to defend their NBA title from last year.
With a few more role players, the Lakers could play the spoiler in the playoffs but I don't think they'd make it to the finals.
may not bode well for the regular season record but the Suns look fine, especially Barbosa who has superstar written all over him this year
Everything looks about right in the West. Suns, Spurs and Mavs all have two losses. It will be those three teams and maybe Houston (although McGrady or Yao will probably get hurt at some point) fighting it out in the playoffs again.
The rankings have pretty much corrected themselves except for Boston in the top spot. That will change.
Boston will be exposed when Dallas, San Antonio or Phoenix plays them. They don't play any of the big three until Jan 31st. That's plenty of time to build up the Boston hype!

Jan 31 Dal 8:00 PM (Boston Loss)
Feb 10 SA 7:00 PM (Boston Loss)
Feb 22 @Pho 10:30 PM (Boston Loss)
Note: that was all from just ONE page. Continuing....

Yeah...here's more...The Suns know they're going to win the Pacific.
Nash = MVP for 4th year in a row
Marion seems happy with it so all is good for this year's run at another title!
Houston remains unbeaten until next Sunday, that's where their streak wll end against the Suns.
See you in the finals if you can get by Detroit!
Phoenix over Boston for the Championship
Winner of New Orleans/San Antonio will be the champs this year.
Finals Prediction:

New Orleans > Detroit
Pistons should make quick work of them. A late pickup of PJ Brown is the only thing keeping the Celtics alive
oops. setback

Since the Celtics can't win on the road, they're done.

hoooo boy
NCF West: Cardinals
NFC South: Saints
NFC North: Bears (but I don't like the pick)
NFC East: Eagles

Wild Cards: Rams, Cowboys

AFC: West: Chargers
AFC South: Colts
AFC North: Ravens
AFC East: Patriots

Wild Cards: Texans, Steelers

NFC Championship: Eagles vs Cardinals
AFC Championship: Chargers vs Colts

Most Improved Team: Houston
Most Overrated Team: Seattle

Superbowl: Eagles over Chargers

hahahhahahahahah
Are you shitting me? The only 3 picks TOTAL you hit on that was the Pats, Colts, and Chargers?
Patriots and Colts appear to be the only teams capable of winning it all this year barring serious injuries.

Arizona State just won the College Women's Softball World Series (adding to the total domination of the Women Pac Ten championships over the Big Ten (not that the Men's Pac Ten hasn't dominated the Big Ten in NCAA championships as well)

On the men's side:

University of Arizona just beat #1 Miami in the first game of their College Baseball super-regional series.

Arizona state plays tomorrow
Major League Baseball will take a huge bite out of the current Arizona State team today and Friday. The worst part about the amateur draft, though, is what it could do to ASU's future.

At least six players in a critical 24-man ASU recruiting class are considered to be professional-bound because they will be drafted so high - or at minimum will have a tough decision to make before the signing deadline Aug. 15.
Could be an All Arizona series coming up!

Was it painful because there were two teams who style of play was actually successful? Or is it just your angst about the Suns being irrelevant for the next 5 years?

I did not expect the Lakers to go out like that (well, i expected them to win in 7 before the finals started). I thought the Celtics would win game 6 before it started, but I expected it to be close like many of the previous games. Rajon Rando had an absolutely sick game, going 21 - 8 - 7 - 6 (points - rebounds - assists - steals). Really happy for Garnett, a year ago I did not think he would ever get close to a championship.

The Eastern Conference was so bad they had to prop up the Celtics to make things interesting again. At least the Suns managed to keep entertainment and ratings on a high level in the games they played over the past three+ years. Now the league has the Boston drone fans back to help a little with ratings.

On to the draft!

It's a given that the Suns will be busted up over the next two years. I think Sarver will actually draft someone for the future this time with the 15th pick. PG would be nice. Some sort of big man would be nice. SF would be nice. Pretty much, every position could use work looking forward so I think they'll come up with a pick they can be happy with. Selling the pick doesn't make sense now they won't be trying to hold the core together and Terry Porter will actually play his bench.

Teams shouldn't draft according to current need, but to a player's potential.

Otherwise, they'll get Sam Bowie instead of Michael Jordan.

The Suns need everything, even a backup PF so I don't see that being a problem. It's more a question of whether they draft for next year or for two or three years down the road. If there's a great PG, it would be a nice pickup for two or so years down the road when they're grabbing free agents with their Shaq/Nash cap money and can look to be competitive again.
