The new Govna!
Stop derailing my thread...... fuckers!
I know Arnold has some liberal slants on social issues, but so far he seems to be winning. We shall see what happens when he comes out of the closet and takes a stand on some things. As long as he repeals that fucking car tax, and re-enacts Prop 187 (Which 5 million of us said YES too and 1 fucked up libby judge threw out), he has my vote.

I saw someone post on another board that Davis's petition to have his name on the second part of the ballot where in the group that the state supreme court had already turned down, but I haven't found a solid reference for it yet.
Davis lost the suit.
Another article that's fairly interesting about the timing of the candidates announcing they are running, particularly on Feinstein declining and Schwarzenegger entering:

Thought it had been decided and he had lost, thanks.
In looking at the california state constitution, its pretty amazing he even tried that.

Not a whole lot of wiggle room there.(c) If the majority vote on the question is to recall, the officer
is removed and, if there is a candidate, the candidate who receives
a plurality is the successor. The officer may not be a candidate,
nor shall there be any candidacy for an office filled pursuant to
subdivision (d) of Section 16 of Article VI.
I remember back in May when I was in the San Fran area for a friend's wedding. I remember thinking how nice it was out there, the weather, the topography, everything. I really liked how there didn't seem to be a whole lot of difference in attitude between the northeast and Cali and thought the people out there seemed normal, ie. very little adjustment if I ever decided to move there.

I love the SF bay area. I grew up there, and just moved to the deathpit of LA a year ago. It's my goal to eventually convince my wife that we need to go back there!Chidoro wrote:I remember back in May when I was in the San Fran area for a friend's wedding. Arnie just got Warren Buffet to be his economic advisor. You can't get much better than that. I have always believed that governments should follow the same rules as any other business. If you are in teh red then you cut expenses. You don't have to have massive layoffs but you can put in a hiring freeze and maybe offer early retirement to cut the workforce down.
Prop 187 should have gone through. It is criminal to see my tax dollars being wasted on illegal immigrants. If those little fuckers want to come to America legitimately then we can see about a grant or loan program to get themselves setup. None of those little fuckers should be able to sneak across the border and steal our money.
The car tax is a touchy thing. That is an amazing high tax BUT it will get people off the road. Of course it affects poor people a lot more than rich people but I think too many people have drivers licenses that shouldn't right now. Either way though it is an illegal tax with no representation. People should be able to vote on all new taxes. Not just get fucked in the ass.
Glad to see you back Kyouk, I was getting tired of all the lame window-lickers around here. Tard Voltron is awesome. Is there a button that asks if you want fries?

This won't get people off the road. They'll just drive around without registration. It's only really going to effect poorer people, a lot of which just drive around without registration as it is. Especially in LA.Deward wrote: The car tax is a touchy thing. That is an amazing high tax BUT it will get people off the road.
