IHOP has no atmosphere. Wafflehouse has that great, gritty, smokey, chipped floor tile, metal chair, barely working bathroom, bubba filled late night ambiance.
And fried ham, really good fried ham.

Never even heard of Waffle House - are there any in New England?
Back in the day, Howard Johnson's was the place to go for breakfast at all hours - I think they are all long gone now.

I've noticed Waffle Houses are mainly a southern thing. So I wouldn't be surprised if there aren't any in New England.

I think they are also called Huddle House and Omelet Shoppe, all the same deal, and the same toothless waitresses.

Actually I do remember seeing something up north that had the exact same look as Waffle House, I think it may have even been Huddle House. It wouldn't surprise me, Hardees is the same thing as Carl's Jr (East and West Coast). Erm, I think its those two, I know Carl's Jr and something here is the same restaurant. Their menu's and logos are the same (slight difference in burger names tho)
