Michigan's Softball team actually won the finals a couple years ago, but something must be wrong with VV's search function. I can't seem to find the post I made about it...

Arizona State just won the College Women's Softball World Series (adding to the total domination of the Women Pac Ten championships over the Big Ten (not that the Men's Pac Ten hasn't dominated the Big Ten in NCAA championships as well)

On the men's side:
University of Arizona just beat #1 Miami in the first game of their College Baseball super-regional series.
Arizona state plays tomorrow
Major League Baseball will take a huge bite out of the current Arizona State team today and Friday. The worst part about the amateur draft, though, is what it could do to ASU's future.
At least six players in a critical 24-man ASU recruiting class are considered to be professional-bound because they will be drafted so high - or at minimum will have a tough decision to make before the signing deadline Aug. 15.
Could be an All Arizona series coming up!
Oops, what happened to that All Arizona series?

The two best players on ASU got into a brawl on the field before the game yesterday. It was great. Probably over a groupie or something. They were both drafted high last week so it's doubtful they'll be back.

I had a friend drafted while we were in High School. I never understood how the hell the MLB draft worked.

It was done as a joke. They weren't really fighting.

That's a cover up story.

It must be awesome to rabidly root for a university you didn't actually attend.

Where'd that come from? Was that comment directed at me?

We'll have to wait a year on that to see as Carpenter is back as QB for the Sun Devils this year.
We have waited a year. Can we now say Pryor > Elway Jr. ?
ESPN wrote:Hall of Fame quarterback John Elway says he understands his son Jack's decision to quit football, he said Thursday, according to The Denver Post.
Hall of Fame: John Elway
Jack Elway, a redshirt freshman at Arizona State, decided to leave the team last month, during spring practice. He remains enrolled at the school as a student.
"He sounds better," John Elway said, according to the report. "Just talking to him, it's like the world has been lifted off his shoulders. So I'm happy for him."
Elway said his son did not love football to the degree that he had, according to the report.

Grabbed NCAA Football 10 for the 360 a few days ago off the newsgroups. Thankfully the game has simulation between two teams unlike the lame ass Madden series the past few years. Hope they finally fix that with Madden 10.
Arizona State beat Arizona
BUT
USC at OhioSU ended up with OhioSU winning 27-30 showing that the game isn't perfect.
It looks like a fun game. I don't play them but watch the simulations for kicks. The stadium, mascots and cheerleaders are well done this year.
