Not knocking Maker's--that is some excellent booze for the price. It seems Woodford has more of a sipping quality. I really do not know a whole lot about bourbon or scotch, although I do enjoy both! I am much much much better with wine and beer. Although I am pretty well versed in rum and vodka too!

PS: Evan Williams and Jim Beam on "well" are the sign of a good bar.
I will keep an eye out for this Woodford Reserve. You have piqued my interest for sure. (I think Makers is great)
I need to find a new bottle of Talisker, I'm empty T_T

My birthday was a success. Nothing like turning 21 on a friday at MSU!
Favorite: taking shots and downing pitchers with my buddies until closing time. Jamming out to Dragonforce in a car so baked that I couldn't see the dashboard from the back seat (alcohol may have influenced this). Dancing barefoot in shorts and a t-shirt outside in a Michigan winter. Fusion Frenzy II sumo marathon.
Least favorite: pretty lady says "hey I hear it's your birthday, want to dance?" and the DJ kills the music 10 seconds later. nooooo

Talisker is good, but I much prefer Macallan!

I'll take both bottles of Scotch, thanks!
I believe Woodford is one of the oldest distillers out there (if FoodTV wasn't lying). It isn't the end-all-be-all but it is pretty fucking good!
Reminds me, I need to buy another bottle of Maker's and Knob Creek.

Any of you bourbon drinkers try Bookers?

I've had it, although it has been some time. Great stuff, imo!
I am not really a bourbon drinker though. I generally stick to beer and wine...

Cement Mixer... ugh...
I had one of these bought for me somewhere between 12 - 15 drinks on my 21st birthday, and I knew damn well what it was and what it was going to do to me, but I was drunk enough to try and play the tough guy and take it anyway.
It pretty much ended the fun part of my night. I felt shitty, and I did the rest of the shots bought for me just to be a good sport. It was bought by a stranger, I might add. Just to be mean, not to be funny.
I did end the night hugging the toilet, BUT I made it long enough for everyone to fall asleep, and nobody caught me... and I was the only one who wasn't feeling supershitty in the morning, so I earned major tough points

For some reason I dislike Knob Creek. Not completely sure why. And for those old time bourbon lovers out there who like to throw the cash around, drop a cool 65 at your local liqour store and get some Basil Hayden.
Now that is bourbon. (and it was on Deadwood! it wins on merit alone!)

That DJ might have done you a favor! Your beer goggles might have been the reason that was a pretty lady

Perhaps. At the time is the only time it counts, though!
