I thought the main reason for taking Ephedra off the market was that it is a primary ingredient for cooking your own crystal meth?

In other news, I picked up some Rock Star Punch tonight because of Nez's suggestion. It's in the freezer right now as I like to hit it right before it freezes. Hopefully it's good.
I did too Noel. It tasted like Hawaiian Punch. I like the Rockstar Pomegranate, I really like the Guava, Monster is ok and Red Bull is good.

My last knee surgery I got addicted to Red Bull and those little candy Hot Tamales. Since I am going back under the knife in a week, for another big knee surgery I might have to reload on those. Maybe mix in some of the Rockstar drinks for some variety.

I started out only being able to drink the juice+ energy drinks (which seems to be the ones most people like here). However, after about 3 months of randomly drinking Red Bull, I grew to absolutely love the taste of it. I still hate most of the other energy drinks that don't have juice/flavoring in them, but man, give me a can of Red Bull, and I will chug it like my life depends on it.

It doesn't at all. HI Punch has more of a bite at the end of the 'taste' whereas Code Red is a lot smoother. I like Code Red a lot (prefer it to regular Mt. Dew actually), but it doesn't taste like HI Punch.

To each his own. I could drink cough syrup by the pint and this drink satisfies that urge.

Holy Shit, Siji you almost killed me.

I saw a Redline while filling up on gas, thought I would try it. I bought the grape flavor which did not taste like grape. I felt like I mainlined speed. I had not eaten so that may have made it worse, but jesus, my head hurt, my heart raced, my mouth was watering like crazy. I thought I was going to vomit. I will never ever try that again. I was chugging bottles of water trying to get that shit out of my system. Thank god I carry 6 bottles of water with me in my car every day or I would have been in big trouble.

I like Red Bull the most, but the Juiced drinks are pretty good. Redline is death in a bottle.

Noel to be completely honest I haven't heard much about Rockstar Cola. It's been mentioned in passing but none of the accounts I service (Mainly major chain grocery stores, Wal-Marts and Targets) carry it. And I don't see it on Rockstar's website (http://www.rockstar69.com)

The next big thing I've been hearing about is:
WAKE UP, GET ROASTED. ROCKSTAR ROASTED is an amazing mix of the finest espresso coffee, fresh milk and cream packed with the powerful blend of Original Rockstar. Enhanced with the potent herbal blend of Guarana, Ginkgo, Ginseng and Milk Thistle, ROASTED is scientifically formulated to provide an incredible energy boost for those who lead active and exhausting lifestyles–from athletes to rock stars. Rockstar Roasted is available in 3 delicious flavors: Latte, Mocha and Light Vanilla (with 50% less fat & 50% fewer calories than original Rockstar Roasted.) Enjoy this fully refreshing beverage super chilled. Party like a Rockstar.
Sounds gross to me, personally.

As far as getting Rockstar Cola (if it's available) goes, your best bet -- even if it's a hassle -- is to stop at or call your local grocery store, ask somebody if you can speak to the Grocery Manager and ask him if he can try to get you a case from his Coca Cola salesman.

In our region we will special order products for customers as long as 1.) The product exists in the store's computer system, and 2.) You're willing to buy the case (Rockstar comes 24 cans to a case, so you're looking at over $50 after tax and deposit for a case retail price). Make it very clear that you're willing to buy the entire case so the store doesn't get stuck sitting on inventory that isn't in their shelf set.

If the stores in your area are run like the ones here are, the manager will have to talk to his Coke rep. and find out if he can get it for you, and then you'll have to call or see him again to confirm that you want it. Again, stores are wary about sitting on inventory they can't sell, so you have to make it clear that you're serious.

Eventually, you'll establish a relationship with the Manager, and you will be able to get it ordered for you regularly.

Another thing you can do is stop at any Pharmacy / Gas Station / Grocery Store / Bar / etc if you see a Vehicle with Coca-Cola markings on it. A truck and trailor, a van, a car, anything -- find coke guys inside, the guys will know right where you can find whatever you're looking for if it's available in your area.

Cool man, thanks. I was actually pretty confident it had been discontinued, but then I saw it when I was up in Bremerton, WA earlier in the year. I appreciate the advice.

Hey man, I just did a little E-research and it looks like Rockstar Cola was discontinued as soon as Coca-Cola picked up the Rockstar line a couple years ago. That explains why I've never dealt with it.

Like dying?
Going from memory..

1. Hot summer day
2. Week of strenuous exercise (baseball training camp)
3. Not eating for days
4. Having nothing/very little to drink
5. Family history of heart problems
6. Taking way more than recommended dosage of a supplement that works by raising heart rate

= Darwin award type death. My apologies if I don't feel sorry for idiots too dumb to use supplements wisely.

Can't speak to the Ready-to-Drink versions, but sounds like they work as well. If that's too strong for you, try the 5-hour Energy things. They're much weaker, but still work.

Direct from their site:

Red Bull® Energy Drink is exclusively produced in Austria and exported world-wide. All ingredients used for Red Bull® Energy Drink are synthetically produced. Most ingredients are produced by pharmaceutical companies. This guarantees highest quality.

Weird:

8 oz Red Bulls say Made in Austria
12 oz Red Bulls say Made in Switzerland
16.9 oz Red Bulls say Made in the Netherlands (this also may send me into cardiac arrest)

At least, that's how it goes at my local WaWa.

Reviews of the Rockstar line. They review all the brands it appears.
Punched
Category: Energy: Regular; Packaging: 16 fl oz (473ml) can

BevNET Review:
Rockstar's entry into the "punch" energy drink subcategory is a good one in terms of both packaging and flavor. The flavor is sweet but crisp, with a more tropical style fruit punch flavor that hides almost all of the energy flavor in the drink. On the other hand, the bright red color is a bit much for our liking. Packaging features Rockstar's standard 16 ounce can, which has been decorated with a hip looking black, red, and gold color scheme. In our opinion, this is their best work to date in terms of looks and flavor -- definitely worth a try.
Juiced Pomegranate
Category: Energy: Regular; Packaging: 16 oz. can

BevNET Review:
Rockstar's Juiced Pomegranate flavor is a refreshing blend of energy and juice that is packaged in Rockstar's trademark 16 oz. can. Using a 50 percent juice blend, the product achieves a natural-tasting body that hides most of the aftertaste. Another interesting feature of this product is its sweetener blend, which uses sucrose as well as acesulfame potassium and sucralose to cut the calories and carbohydrate content. Everything comes together nicely, giving you a nice boost of energy with a pleasant fruit flavor and minimal aftertaste. We're not sure if the trendiness of pomegranate means anything to the consumer of Rockstar, but this is definitely one of their best-tasting drinks to date. Finally, there's the can, which uses a bright reddish tone that's arguably the most attractive of the Rockstar lineup.
Juiced Guava
Category: Energy: Regular; Packaging: 16 fl oz can

BevNET Review:
Using a blend of 70% juice, this product has one of the most intense fruit flavors that we've ever seen in an energy drink. Unlike Rockstar Juiced or Monster Khaos, this product's tropical fruit flavor is complex, but smooth, and doesn't have the caffeine tinge that were common in the first round of juice + energy hybrids. The level of sweetness is a bit strong, but enjoyable, and overall it has a flavor that is extremely refreshing. The packaging uses color well, with black and gold offsetting the bright hue of the purple. Plus, it will be easy to pick out from the crowd as this is not a color that has been widely used. Overall, we think that this product is a good addition to the Rockstar lineup and it provides a good alternative to the existing Juiced SKU. How about an energy tea next?
