Damn, sucks you guys just got screwed by that bad interference call. I think it was holding anyway though. 24-24 double OT baby.

Yeah, shoulda been called holding instead of interference, but it was a penalty either way I think.

It was a great fucking game. But to all the people who said that UM would rape us...

HAHA MOTHERFUCKERS HAHA!!!

Sorry, I have been waiting to say that for well over a month.

OSU should have won that game in regulation. There was an absolutely obvious defensive holding that was not called on Miami late. The guy actually had the OSU receiver's jersey stretched back about 2 feet. It was still a good game....and the extra overtimes got us more commercial time for those enormous breasts. Jesus...that was better than the game itself.

i dont care about the holding/pass interference call.

fact is Ohio State played a helluva game.

Miami fucked themselves 3 times. Their 3 scoring drives were all on Miami turnovers inside their 30. Oh well, very disappointing, but a great win for Ohio State. I hope McGahee isn't hurt too bad. Would have obviously been huge to have him in OT when it was 1st and goal from the 2.

oh well.

pound on me at will....

nope i dont think the refs had anything to do with the outcome.

Ohio State made many big plays.

Miami made a few costly bad plays.

it was an entertaining and surprising game, not just to me , but to quite a few people.

I watched the slo-mo replay of McGahee's knee being snapped backwards on ESPN and it made me want to puke. That was pure nastiness.

My wife and I both wanted to puke when they were replaying the McGahee hit.
I do think it was class of Donny Nicky to see in the post game to say he hoped it was nothing serious for McGahee.

The thing that suprised me the most was the amount of pressure OSU was able to get with just the front four at times.

Who would have thought that Craig Krenzel would be the leading rusher with 81 yards and 2 TDs.

There were a couple times I thought Craig wasn't gonna get up after a vicious hits. Like on one of the draws Vilma and #26 just crushed him.

All in all an incredible game that neither team should be ashamed of.

The official explained the "delayed" interference call in the overtime that gave OSU a first down.
He said on espn.com that the delay came because he wanted to have a conference and make sure if defensive holding or interference was the right call. I think it should have been called holding rather than interference but either one is a automatic first down so it's kind of a moot point.

Delay or not It was a good call

Good game...great game.

I think we are all missing a key point.

The BCS actually got it right this year...there is only one undefeated team in the country...and they are now the champs!

Oh...and I'm not gonna talk any shit for Ohio...because I hate them too. I just had to follow my "Rule of Thumbs" for who to cheer for when watching a college game:
1. PSU is God's Team
2. Conference (Big Ten)
3. Whatever teams are left that are playing a florida team

I remember a buddy of mine saying that Ohio State would never win a national title with John Thompson at the helm. Sure enough, they dump him and a couple years later, the championship is theirs. Overall, I believe the Big 10 went 6-2 in bowls this season.

The SEC went 3-4 in bowl games this year, and Michigan kicked UF's ass. Disappointing end to a down season. Maybe I can take some solace in hoops this spring...

Big Ten was 5-2.
Penn state lost a very close game.
Iowa got spanked and then some by USC.

Grats Iowa being the best team in the Big Ten. :p

John Cooper don't ya mean? The Big 10 went 5-2, Big 12 went 5-3 and the Big 12 South went 4-0. Oh yeah, the Florida teams went 0-3!

The game was un-fricken-believable. I'm a die hard Ohio State fan and felt that if anyone could pull this game through it was *drum roll* Craig Krenzel! That kid is tough as shit. He made Dorsey look like a whiney little girl.

Kudos to Miami for providing one of the most talented teams I have ever witnessed. Damn Winslow to eternal punishment by waiting for a spot in Frenzy indefinitely. And I sincerely hope McGahee bounces back from his injuries, he is a great player and deserves no less.

I may be biased, but this was one of the greatest football games I have ever been witness to. Phenomenal. Edge of the seat the entire second half. I was damn near cardiac arrest during the fourth down of OSU's first OT drive.

And surprisingly Columbus didn't burn! (Maybe because 90% of its population was in Tempe? Where in hell were all the Miami fans! We practically had home field advantage)

-Alfan

p.s. w00t big ten pulls through...88.8% now only if I could do that well on my finals.

I take back what i said above about the officiating.

that call was totally bogus. but that being said, Miami still had a chance to win the game, so grats to OSU.

It wasn't interference. It was defensive holding. Sharpe had a big old handful of Gamble's jersey as soon as he left the line of scrimage. To be honest it was the exact same BS call they called on Gamble for "holding" Johnson earlier.

In the end bad call or no, if you have the ball first and goal on the 2 yard line you need to punch it in if you want to be the national champions.

Posted: January 6, 2003, 1:11 pm
by Voronwë
i agree with your 2nd point Sabek.

and the call on Johnson was after this call, and in my opinion it was a "makeup call".
ESPN wrote:In the last two years, the Big 12 has issued at least two known letters of apology after games where Porter has made controversial calls.
why is that guy in a national championship game?

you are 100% right though Miami should have nailed it in from the 2. McGahee would have certainly helped there, but the O-Line has to step up, and honestly Dorsey totally blew the 2nd down play when he had that TE wide open and no pressure on him and he threw it away....

oh well, very disappointing.

McGahee's surgery went well apparently, and the damage wasnt as bad as they thought it would be.

Big 12 fans know that our refs suck shit.

I did a huge WTF when I heard that the Big 12 officials doing that game.

Well Big Ten officiating wouldn't of helped matters much at all. They are worse than the Big 12 and have had at least 3 or 4 botched calls regarding a TD or some other close calls that could of turned a ball game.

On a side note, while I hope he will be ok, I fear McGahee will be another Terrell Davis. He will reinjure his knee within 2-3 years and be day to day until he retires. But, I hope I'm wrong.

Hopefully he doesnt end up like Kijana Carter. That guy could blow out a knee walking down the street it seemed like.

Priest Holmes, had one blown knee in college at UT and one blown knee in his Senior year in High School. Everything has worked out pretty well for him in Kansas City. If not for him injuring his hip, lets hope its not a Bo Jackson type hip injury, he would have won the AFC Rushing Title.
