Actually buddy, I don't need any lessons from her, you or anyone else. The point is, you cannot hear someones voice on a message board to tell if they are joking or not. So maybe people will learn my lesson which is keep your fucking joking to yourself, cause im not interested. Or I can just irritate them until they put me on ignore and solve the problem that way.

When someone posts something like

"God you are a fucking fag"

for example. How is one supposed to go about discerning whether they are joking or serious ? I don't know any one person on this board well enough to make that call, so I assume any comment directed at me is an insult. And I see no reason why I should think otherwise.

Yes, but if she's perfectly capable of defending herself, but you just automatically leap in and try to defend her without being needed or asked or seeing what her chosen response is, then you're really just imposing your desires over hers by getting in the way of and overriding her chosen response. Overriding and negating her preferred response is not exactly respectful of her, or the act of a friend... If she's capable of taking care of herself, then let her. If she needs your help, or if her choice is to let you do it even though she *could* do it herself, then I daresay she'll let you know. Just a thought...
