JFC, would you give it a rest already. We know you don't like Moore, party lines have nothing to do with that.

In Maine, the McD's have McLobster sandwiches, and they're fucking good.

Because Arbys = McDonalds?
But I guess I can see your general point. While it's being phased out as a 'standard option' I'm sure there are some backwater establishments that may not have received the memo.

I think what really happened is that the Super Size in Iowa (where I live) never made it to 42 oz and 7 oz fries. After my first post I read some of that stuff, and said to myself yea, they have changed from that...but in Iowa, the Large Size meal now is what used to be the Super Size.
And on the Do I bring a bag lunch to work question? No, but I sure do eat a LOT of Fruit and Walnut Salads since they came out

On the contrary, some of her posts are actually quite critical of michael moore.

I love Moore's comedies and stuff like TV Nation. I thought Roger and Me was a great documentary. I have never said anything beyond that. If that makes me a slavering Michael Moore fan then whatever.
I still stand by that the majority of mcdonalds offers the super size option. in fact I went there for breakfast this morning and got the super size breakfast that is two hashbrowns and a large cup of orange water.

I enjoyed Roger and Me and found Stupid White Men a funny, trashy read... Does that also make me a 'big Michael Moore supporter'?

Than you're still wrong. What else will it take to show you that?
I like Micheal Moore too. He has a very common man approach to his social commentary. He makes me laugh at things that if you think about it, aren't funny at all. He also shows topics you would otherwise never see or hear about.

I liked TV Nation a lot, Roger and Me was good, then he started reading his own press.

No, I think you're wrong. Just because it's not visible on the menu, or because they go to a -small-medium-large- type thing like burger king, does not make the super size gone.
That's like my company telling you that hamburger is no longer called hamburger, its called veeshan. My company can do that all they want, but hamburger is still hamburger.

I've asked for Supersize at the McDonalds around me and the people don't look like they have a clue what I am asking for. I am guessing it goes into their training when they get hired now.

No, I think you're wrong.
Well, as long as you
think so!
(Btw, if you
think 1+1=3, it dosen't make it a fact)
There are facts on the Interweb Machine regarding the elimination of the Supersize. Jesus Christ, I'm really getting sick of arguing this very simple and already proven point. Did you not see the link and size comparisons I posted earlier? If so, what makes you think all that information is incorrect and you're right? Do you think it's a conspiracy or something? Do you think I secretly work for Ronald and am making this shit up?
On a happier note, here is a joke email with a real McDonald replay. I thought it was funny and on topic, so read away.

hello,
i understand that you will no longer offer a super-sized meal. As a
large American, i am offended by this change. When i eat, I need to eat
a large volume of food or i begin to feel depressed. I feel that you
are discriminating against your larger customer, as i am now going to
have to buy two large orders, instead of just super-sizing my order.
This will likely result in a higher cost on my part. Sometimes, i have
a hard day at work and i drive through your establishment and seeing
ronald smiling makes me happy. I think Ronald now has a tear in his
eye, for he would never discriminate against his larger customers. He
must be rolling in his super-sized grave. I will no longer eat meat at
your establishment, as deep down i know that you are trying to force me
to be something i am not: a thin person. This country was founded on
the notion that people can come here and get fat, no matter what your
prior circumstance was. This is no longer the America we live in, i
gue!
ss. Now, we live in a post september 11th world of forced starvation.
I never thought a corporation would try to starve me--what ever happened
to 'corporations are people, too'? do people not have feelings? When a
corporation is pricked, does it not bleed? Does it not feel for the
super-sized person? I guess i'll have it my way and go to BK.
Thank-you and please re-consider your new anti-super-size people policy,
graham

-------------- next part --------------
Hello Graham:
Thank you for taking the time to contact McDonald's. I am sorry you are
disappointed with the elimination of the SuperSize option at McDonald's
which will be phased in at McDonald's restaurants throughout this year.
At McDonald's, we are focused on delivering an exceptional customer
experience. This effort includes providing a consistent and relevant
menu, with a range of choices that support a balanced lifestyle. To
achieve this, we will have a national core menu in all US restaurants by
the end of 2004. This core menu, which has been under development since
2002, simplifies our menu and restaurant operations, and provides a
balance of choices for our customers. A component of this initiative is
the ongoing phase-out of the SuperSize fry and SuperSize drink options.
Please know your comments on this change are important and have been
shared with our Menu Management department for their ongoing review of
our menu.
Again, I am sorry for any disappointment this decision may cause you. We
value your business and hope we have the opportunity of serving you
again soon.

Obviously you didn't completely read my post. I don't eat at Mcdonalds so I don't know the entire situation, but if they went away from the "supersize" and offer value meals in small, medium and large like burger king does, I still
consider the super size to be there, they are basically just re-naming it.

That makes absolutely no sense. They always had small, medium and large. In addition to 'supersize'.

Interesting because last time I was at McDonalds, they didnt.
I'm not talking about just getting a small medium or large fry, I'm talking about the whole meal, I've never been to a McDonalds that had this.

actually, before all these changes they didn't. They had small, large and supersize. I used to cause widespread panic when I'd order a medium Coke.
"We don't have medium, sir."
AND, iirc when they added supersize (way the fuck back) the small was the old school small, the large was the old school large, and they made supersize bigger, and completely did away with the medium size.
If you kids don't settle the fuck down, I'll pull this car over right now.
