he is not a pioneer of anything like he claims to be
yes he was a pioneer
Make up your fucking mind.

his influence on the direction rap music went is almost non existent. He started the whole stop the violence thing in rap (look how that turned out, real influential).
I have no idea what that is supposed to mean.

And as far as the differences between hip hop and rap, well I discussed it with my friend to see if I was crazy or what. He agreed with me..
So there is another person who shares your opinions on what defines rap and hip hop. But Sylvus, myself and KRS1 agree that you're your definitions of rap and hip hop are wrong.

3-2, you lose.
Nice try.

but I think I would go with the word of a CEO of a rap record label over a bunch of people on a video game message board
Hahahahhahahhroflhahahhaa...
How does that make your horseshit any more credible?
You're just some stupid kid who really knows fuck all about the roots and orgin of rap and hip hop culture.

Wanna Blow Entertainment?
Sounds like a gay porn company.
Seriously though. CEO of a record label with what? one artist? How many people does he have employed in his company? Where are the corporate headquarters of Wanna Blow?

Or is Wanna Blow really just 2 guys with a cellphone?

It just fucking cracks me up that you realise you have zero credibility about hip hop and rap.. and you try to compensate by bragging about your little friends record label, dropping important sounding acronyms like CEO.

Maybe you should start your own company.. you could be the CEO of Wanna Suck.

I could start dropping names of artists my brother has worked with. He's a producer. I could brag about who I've met through him... but I don't, because my comments and opinions can stand on their own merit.

Having to drop names to up your credibility only shows how immature and insecure you really are.

Think what you may, you are wrong and I am right. You asked what I meant by one of my comments, what I meant is if he is so influential its funny that his attempts to stop the violence failed miserably. Not only did he not help, its gotten 50x worse.

And Im not throwing names around to make myself look cool. I mentioned it because someone in the rap industry, whether they have 1 artist or 100 knows a fuck ton more about the music then anyone on this board. And for the record, they are a legit company with a recording studio and 2 artists, one of whom is one of the most popular rappers on the east coast at the time. He is all over the radio, B.E.T, magazines, etc. I hardly think that is a nobody worthless record label. He surely is more successful then fucking worthless Atmosphere who someone( i dont remember who) here seemed to think was so great.

But anyhow, I guess I don't know what im talking about and you guys have a wealth of knowledge. I hate to break the news, but the days of Dane a dane and Doug E Fresh are long since over. Whether you like the direction the music has gone in or not no one cares, and im sick of hearing about it to be perfectly honest. I dont sit in this forum and post on how every single other post is horseshit music and how rock used to be so much better(mainly because typing that in every other thread would be boring)..

Just because the majority of kids like yourself are into 'violent' rap, it doesn't mean that 'non-violent' rap doesn't exist. There are loads of rap artists that convey anything but a violent message... the topic of the original post is a prime example of one.

But let's face it, hostile and violent rap is a lot more controversial than rap that isn't. Perfect music for rebellious teens.

But back to KRS1... his 'Stop The Violence' movement was not the only point of merit in his decades spanning career....

And Im not throwing names around to make myself look cool.
I never said anything about cool.
I don't think it's possible for you to appear 'cool' to anyone on these forums with the amount completely stupid shit you have spewed (or spit) in the past few years. You ruined your own street cred, so to speak.

People who are on the losing end of a discussion sometimes name drop in an attempt to give their arguments credibility.

I mentioned it because someone in the rap industry, whether they have 1 artist or 100 knows a fuck ton more about the music then anyone on this board.
That is where you are wrong.
I'm speaking as someone who has vast knowledge of rap/hiphop and the music industry in general... and I don't have to drop names. I let my knowledge and opinions speak for themselves.

And for the record, they are a legit company with a recording studio and 2 artists, one of whom is one of the most popular rappers on the east coast at the time. He is all over the radio, B.E.T, magazines, etc. I hardly think that is a nobody worthless record label.
I'll admit that Jae Millz has got some skills, but that doesn't automagically give your buddies at Wanna Blow 100% absolute knowledge of everything pertaining to hip hop.
And a record label with 2 artists means nothing.

But anyhow, I guess I don't know what im talking about and you guys have a wealth of knowledge. I hate to break the news, but the days of Dane a dane and Doug E Fresh are long since over. Well then stuff a fucking sock in it.
We get the point, we all must bow down to you and your self professed superior knowledge of rap.
