I think think Commodore would have been a more interesting rival to the PC juggernaut.
Amiga was amazing for its video and multi-tasking capabililties before IBM's technologies were released. I know I would have loved to have one! They also did a great IBM emulation, though at 25 MHZ...not bad for the time though!
