If we discount the votes for Kerry and GW, this is more valid. Set these 2 aside for checkers. For the chess game, I would pick Cheney over McCain in a close match.

I haven't spoken up much on this but I think Edwards would hold his own. He is who I thought would win based upon my friends who are also lawyers. Most, not all of course, are pretty good at anticipating the next move.

PS - Wesley Clark, a former Army General, ran for the Nomination for President from the Democratic party earlier this year. He is currently campaigning for John Kerry since he Kerry won the nomination. I would suspect he will be your next Secretary of Defense in January :)
