good song, not so good video. i think it's an amateur one, so it's pretty good for that

Bjork - Pluto

I suggest DLing the CD version of Pluto and playing it VERY loudly to get the whole effect. I link this performance mostly b/c the CD version one had a naked dude all up in it (bleh) and I want people to the the Reactable in action.

The more original would have been Airplane's performance of it at 1967 Monterey International Pop Festival, although they'd been performing the song for a while before that.

10:56. The closest I could come to 10 minutes that are as good/better than the clip you posted.

(The original footage is more visually appealing imo. But the clip I posted is remastered, and sounds so much better). It gets clipped at the end. Acceptable considering that song is one side of an album.

The dvd is absolutely fucking fabulous btw.

Truant! Perfect!!! When I posted that Zeppelin clip all I was thinking of as an adequate challenge was something from Pink Floyd and what you posted is better than I could've imagined.

This is the age of machinery,
A mechanical nightmare,
The wonderful world of technology,
Napalm hydrogen bombs biological warfare,

This is the twentieth century,
But too much aggravation
Its the age of insanity,
What has become of the green pleasant fields of jerusalem.

Aint got no ambition, Im just disillusioned
Im a twentieth century man but I dont wanna be here.
My mama said she cant understand me
She cant see my motivation
Just give me some security,
Im a paranoid schizoid product of the twentieth century.

You keep all your smart modern writers
Give me william shakespeare
You keep all your smart modern painters
Ill take rembrandt, titian, da vinci and gainsborough,

Girl we gotta get out of here
We gotta find a solution
Im a twentieth century man, but I dont want to die here.

I was born in a welfare state
Ruled by bureaucracy
Controlled by civil servants
And people dressed in grey
Got no privacy got no liberty
Cos the twentieth century people
Took it all away from me.

Dont wanna get myself shot down
By some trigger happy policeman,
Gotta keep a hold on my sanity
Im a twentieth century man, but I dont wanna die here.

My mama says she cant understand me
She cant see my motivation
Aint got no security,
Im a twentieth century man, but I dont wanna be here.

This is the twentieth century
But too much aggravation
This is the edge of insanity
Im a twentieth century man, but I dont wanna be here.

The Kinks - The Strangers

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1h1oRP7F ... re=related
[Show]
Where are you going I don't mind
I've killed my world and I've killed my time
So where do I go what do I see
I see many people coming after me
So where are you going to I don't mind
If I live too long I'm afraid I'll die
So I will follow you wherever you go
If your offered hand is still open to me
Strangers on this road we are on
We are not two we are one
So you've been where I've just come
From the land that brings losers on
So we will share this road we walk
And mind our mouths and beware our talk
'Till peace we find tell you what I'll do
All the things I own I will share with you
If I feel tomorrow like I feel today
We'll take what we want and give the rest away
Strangers on this road we are on
We are not two we are one
Holy man and holy priest
This love of life makes me weak at my knees
And when we get there make your play
'Cos soon I feel you're gonna carry us away
In a promised lie you made us believe
For many men there is so much grief
And my mind is proud but it aches with rage
And if I live too long I'm afraid I'll die
Strangers on this road we are on
We are not two we are one
Strangers on this road we are on
We are not two we are one

For the Kinks fans here, check the comics forum. I finally found a good copy of "Give the People What they Want" album.

It's my favorite and not one as popularized. Well worth a listen! Outstanding lyrics as is expected with the Kinks. Destroyer is the popular song off the album but Around the Dial, Give the People What they Want, Killers Eyes, Predicable, Add It Up, Art Lover, Yo-Yo, Back to Front, Better Things are all great songs.

Kinks >

Here's Destroyer

And the kick ass Better Things
Accept your life and what it brings.
I hope tomorrow you'll find better things.
[Show]
Here's wishing you the bluest sky,
And hoping something better comes tomorrow.
Hoping all the verses rhyme,
And the very best of choruses to
Follow all the doubt and sadness.
I know that better things are on the way.

Here's hoping all the days ahead
Won't be as bitter as the ones behind you.
Be an optimist instead,
And somehow happiness will find you.
Forget what happened yesterday,
I know that better things are on the way.

It's really good to see you rocking out
And having fun,
Living like you just begun.
Accept your life and what it brings.
I hope tomorrow you'll find better things.
I know tomorrow you'll find better things.

Here's wishing you the bluest sky,
And hoping something better comes tomorrow.
Hoping all the verses rhyme,
And the very best of choruses to
Follow all the drudge and sadness.
I know that better things are on the way.

I know you've got a lot of good things happening up ahead.
The past is gone it's all been said.
So here's to what the future brings,
I hope tomorrow you'll find better things.
I know tomorrow you'll find better things
The Kinks didn't make many real videos. Better things is set to Xena clips!

I also have their live performance, One for the Road video. It only has 13 of the 21 songs from that performance in 1979 though.

edit: I can't help myself. This album is so good. Around the Dial is the opening song of the album and reminds me of "Spirit of the Radio" from RUSH. (loss of good radio stations/DJs) Have a listen to the quality copy over on the comics forum if you can. The YouTube video/audio quality drives me nuts.

Give the People What They Want was the first Kinks album I ever got (on vinyl, yes I am old). Great record, I played the heck out of it. Their double live record One For the Road is also really worth checking out, great live set (actually a lot of their stuff is worth checking out but One For the Road probably overall got played by me most of their records I had).

Kinks - One for the Road was my introduction to the group (on Cassette not Vinyl!, ahem, a Peaches and Herb album was my first Vinyl record and then a string of Kiss albums starting with Destroyer)

One for the Road remains my favorite live album. Played it on my walkman while traveling all over Europe. I don't have a quality copy of it or I would give it the (Comics Forum) treatment. Since we need a transition, the other album I played the hell out of was Heartbeat City by the Cars:

Heartbeat City

Not a great video but an excellent song. I would crank up the volume and zone out to this song.

"The noise electric never stops."

For mainstream Cars songs, Lets Go is my favorite.

"She's got wonderful eyes, and a risky mouth"

The Cars were an 80's band in the late 70's.
