Make it like the father. Causes less issues when he asks "why am I different that daddy".

Maybe its cause I don't remember, but I never saw my dad's dick and I never wanted to. I guess I just don't see the whole, be like your brothers/father. I also never saw my brothers, nor did I want to see that one. In fact, I don't really give a shit what other men's dicks look like.

Psyloche did you not play sports or ever go work-out at a Gym? I've never tried to look but it's pretty difficult not to notice if you spend a lot of time changing clothes or showering around other guys.

It shouldn't be any big deal either way I guess. I'm cut and all the women I dated liked it better that way as does my wife. From the other things I've noted it seemed like the right decision for my son and so far was. He wasn't cut so close he will have any problems and has a tad of skin left which will be enjoyable when he hits puberty :)

If we have another boy in the future I'm sure I'll do the same... I also plan on playing racketball, going swiming, working out etc... with my son thus he will probably one day see mine. We don't make a big deal about nudity at our house, and I don't plan on starting anytime soon. I want him to be comfortable with himself so he can be more comfortable with da women :)

I saw the date, I was/am bored at work... so I posted anyway. To Marbus, I did play sports, all my life til I graduated high school and even after. I guess maybe it was just my school, but our showers were kinda gross. I'd rather just wait til I got home. Now that I think of it, I've never taken a shower at a public place, at least not one where you'd see anyone bearing all.

He's "due" in 3 weeks but from what I hear, he'll come out when he's damn good and ready. It's a painful (har har) decision, but we decided to go ahead and get him snipped. Thanks for all the valid arguments for each side.

How about a combination then? JJ for the competitive area and selfdefence
and aikido for the mental part!

Since you have a Gracie-School close, no question about it!

And Hi Noysyrump! Long time! :)

And name the lil fella "Teh DragonFist!"

:D

Encourage the lil buggaroo to start training early! Martial Arts at 7 years for sure!

Strength-training a bit later!

Motivate the lil rascal with peptalk everytime he encounters an obstacle in life!

With this hand i will vanquish all opposition!
Kwon, my son is 9, I am thinking Akido would be a great way to start, what you think?
Of course Pherr! Why not Jiu-Jitsu? I would choose something he could use as both self-defence AND competition. He might want to compete when he gets older.

Not much competition in Aikido since both wait for the opponents action! :D Nothing would happen!

My question would be, what would an Aikidoka do if taken down on the ground (yes, his main objective would be to avoid that, but if he gets taken down), what would he do?

Lets say i do a double leg-takedown on an Aikidoka, what options is there for him?

I'm in the mount, starting to ground and pound, what options is there for the Aikidoka?

-

I'd say let your kid train JJ, and then start training some striking. Wrestling is also a good base(great takedowns).

Many Strikers(TKD,Muay Thai,KickBoxing etc) have been easily defeated by wrestlers, due to no ground-defence! When the Wrestler manages to take the striker down to the ground, the striker often seems to be "weapon-less" and totally without options.

If the striker had some JJ-knowledge, it's a totally different ballgame!
We actually have a rather well respected Gracie School in Santa Rosa, that was my other thought, at 9 I was thinking Akido for the intensely mediative aspect as he heads for puberty

Psyloche, understand about the show thing. The one in our Jr. High we pretty disgusting but a couple of our carpool parents wouldn't let us ride home after practice unless we showered so we eventually go use to it.

Hayley, Big Gratz again and good luck on the last 3 weeks. Remember to keep those feet up :) and get an epidural. My wife's labor was 28 hours, although she only actually had to push for like 30 min. She made it 14 of those w/o one but was very exahusted at that point from dealing with the pain. She was afraid she would miss the "experience" of Child birth if she got one. However let me assure you, if you feel the same, that once the baby enters the birth canal you will know it, epidural or not :) It was truly the greatest experience of our lives, I wish you guys all the best!

Marb

PS - Diaper Genie, it works! Get a bouncy seat with the "booty vibratior" on it (most fisher price models have it) and Joseph really enjoyed the Baby Einstein videos and Rollie Pollie Ollie from an early age (probably because of the geometric shapes).

Not showering after practice robs you of one of the great hazing joys of high school: peeing on the freshmen.

I don't understand all this hazing shit.. I notice it's not as 'acceptable' as it used to be (those girls imitating the hazing in "Dazed and Confused" got in a world of trouble), but how did the American psyche evolve to the point where they thought people would never snap and go on a shooting spree, al la Columbine?

heh, that brings back memories, thanks. but seriously, not showering after practice is a major causes of skin rashes and other bacterial outbreaks on your body.

umm, i was the one pissing on the freshmen

not the other way around

no seriously

After practice I'd get in a car and go home, it was a difference of about 10 minutes in showering... I guess my situation seems singular.

Hrmm, I wonder how many of those freshmen are gay/bi and have a thing for golden showers... bahaha, think about that one.

Hazing is a wonderful tradition! Getting pissed on by the seniors really makes a new kid feel like one of the gang!

More like how many of the Seniors. Probably 95% of them.

Don't get me wrong, I didn't piss all over the kid nor did I get any sexual satisfaction from it. He just didn't respect his superiors and so his feet/legs got pissed on in the shower. It was completely fair retribution; that motherfucker made me have to run for like 20 minutes due to his incompetence.
