I think he was referring to Bryant handling the ball as much as a point guard should.

pretty much anytime i see him play thats how he's playing. who fucking knows with the lakers because 95 percent of the time he's the only one with the ball.

let me alter my statement

you don't setup a team around one person playing every position and win games

edit: do they even list PG's on the nba rosters? I just looked at the lakers and everything's just G

I think Shaq is the only other ego in the NBA capable of balacing out Kobe's massive peen which is clearly a formula for victory.

Those first 3 games were great. He shot well and passed well and his teammates shot the ball well. In the last 3 games, they sucked.
Kobe said that those first 3 games were probably the best basketball the Lakers played this season. When the Suns figured them out and elevated their game, the Lakers had no response.
They were already topped out.

When he said "The Lakers", I'm assuming he meant Kobe Bryant.

Suns 130 Clippers 123 (Phoenix leads series 1-0)

2xMVP Nash: 31 pts, 12 assists (what does this guy have to do to get some respect? : )

Marion: 20 pts, 15 rbs (undersized vs Clippers but still comes through)

The Suns made 24-25 Free Throws and Nash (lead league in Free throw percentage this year) was the Sun to miss one. This team lead the league in Free Throw percentage which bodes well for the hack playoff type games.

The Suns are your Daddies!

Er, he won consecutive MVP awards and you're saying he gets no respect? /boggle

He'd get more respect around here if you weren't giving the Suns blowjobs constantly. Some of us want blowjobs too! :(

I still say he should not have gotten it. Look at the players in the past with multiple MVPs and who never received multiple MVPs heh.

Oh.. and one word: Defense. Neither team seems to know the meaning of the word.

Soooo much bickering. When the steamroller from the East is unleashed in the final round, this MVP arguing will turn into collective cowering.

But since we're on the subject, I'll wager Nash would far prefer a finals MVP award.

Suns 94 Clippers 91 (Phoenix leads series 2-1)

Here's a nice stat line for you:

Marion 32 pts, 19 rbs, 3 assists, 4 steals, 1 blk

Boris had a nice all around game with 11 pts , 7 assists, 6 rbs, 4 blks

I'm hoping the suns take game 4 on Sunday and wrap this series up early back home. They need some rest before taking on the Spurs/Mavs.

The Suns' lack of size in the low post is going to continue to be exposed. It's only going to get worse when the Spurs roll in to town.

If Winnow EVER whines about Suns not getting calls after last night game it will show that he is nothing but a blind fanboi. Nash should have been thrown out after that kick and several offensive fouls on Clippers were blocking fouls on Suns.

On a side note, Shaq should have been thrown out for that elbown while laying on the floor as well.

Wow, the Mavs and Suns win and all the sudden there are bad calls! ...not like there weren't any bad calls when they lost!

I don't see any team in the east or west having an easy time the playoffs atm. No sweeps this round.

The kick was an obvious miss Winnow. How you missed that from Nash is beyond me considering it was shown over and over again. If you kick after a player you should be tossed and suspended one game. Period.

The refs last night were horrible both ways but losing Duncan decided the game. And two of those calls were horrible (not to mention the offensive foul on Ginobili towards the end and the trip that ended up as a no-call).

How about no, you stupid fucking ass.

If you really believe that and want to argue it, then have at it. I'm up for some laughs. Winnow is just fellating himself all over the forum, that's his excuse (though it's not excusable). What's yours?

Posted: May 15, 2006, 5:42 pm

Are you denying it was eight words?

You could have just made the entire post:

GO CLIPPERS!

...although we'd have to get a ruling as to whether CALL CAPS words count as one word or 1.5 each. If the two words, "GO CLIPPERS" were in quotes, I'd be more likely to focus on only those as the two words being "said".

They won the series on the bogus 5th foul on Duncan in game 3. Gogo having somebody step on your foot and roll his ankle for a foul!

I really want to see the Suns and Mavs go at it in the WCF. Tonights Suns/Clippers game in Phoenis is huge. We need this one. Nash had a bad game (partially due to the Clipper's strategy and partially jsut some poor shooting) in game 4. As with the switch of Marion on Casell in game 3, the Suns say they've figured out how to defeat the latest Clipper defensive strategy. We'll find out tonight!

Here's the playoff changes people have been asking for:
Fixing the flaw

Stern unveils his new plan for postseason seeding

Posted: Monday May 15, 2006 11:07PM; Updated: Monday May 15, 2006 11:07PM

DALLAS (AP) -- Maybe this will make Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban feel better about his $200,000 fine from the NBA last week: Cuban's club has forced a likely change in the playoff format.

NBA commissioner David Stern discussed a new seeding system Monday aimed at fixing the flaw the Mavericks exposed this season. The Mavs won 60 games, but were seeded fourth behind the three division winners despite a better record.

That's why Dallas and San Antonio, both in the Southwest Division, are meeting in the second round despite having the two best records in the Western Conference.

Under the new proposal, the top four seeds would be slotted by record among the three division winners and the team with the next-best record. Had that been in place this season, the Spurs still would have been No. 1, but the Mavericks would have been No. 2. And they couldn't have met until the conference finals.

The team with the better record -- regardless of seed -- would also have home-court advantage in a series under the new system.

Stern said it was important to keep rewarding division winners in the new system, which still must be approved by the league's competition committee.

"I think if you're going to have a division structure, then give some credibility to that fact," Stern said.

Before Monday's game, Stern visited with Cuban while the outspoken owner worked out on a stair-stepper machine in the Mavericks' locker room. Cuban was wearing a T-shirt that read "Payback time" and told Stern the workout was his pregame ritual.

Last week, Cuban was fined for going on the court to complain about the officiating and for critical comments he made in a blog entry under the title, "How to improve NBA Playoff Officiating."

In the blog, Cuban called the current way officials are chosen for the playoffs a "huge problem." He went on to suggest the league rank referees based on their regular-season performance and use the minimum number of officials necessary in the postseason.

Stern said Sunday he didn't think there was merit to the idea.

"It's the kind of conversation I understand and it is an issue, but that's a conversation I would have privately with my owners," Stern said.

"Whatever the individual merits of a particular incident, I can't have 30 owners out there saying whatever they feel like saying. And I can't have 30 owners running on the court to berate the officials."

Stern also said the league would likely ban players next season from wearing tights underneath the shorts. Some players, including Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade, have worn leggings that extend all the way down to the ankles.

Stern squeezed in a parting shot at the tights before he likely outlaws the growing fashion trend.

"I think it's good that they look goofy," Stern said.

So much choking it's almost funny: Marion missing 2 free throws, Cassell with an 8 second violation which came with no one guarding him up the floor, Thomas tossing the ball out of bounds when he could have called time out, etc. All this in the closing minutes of regulation.

The league MVP nearly fucks everything up with 2 turnovers in closing seconds of the first OT only to be bailed out by Bell.

It's hard to decide who I want to win. I can't stand mullet boy, but I hate Sam Cassell's whiny bitch ass and love seeing his stupid facial expressions as the officials tell him to fuck off or when he and his team blow major opportunities.

All in all, fun game to watch.

Suns 125 Clippers 118 (2-OT) (Phoenix leads series 3-2)

The Suns aren't making this easy. Nash 0-13 three pointers. He hasn't made one since game one of this series. Raja Bell's 5-7 three pointers and clutch play has been keeping us alive the last two games...as well as what must be a dead tired Marion's 36pt, 20 rb performance tonight.

I should say a win is a win but double OT games aren't what a worn out team needs. On the good side, the Suns were losing theri overtime games and close games during the season, in the playoffs, they've survived three elimination games and this 2-OT game so even though they're not looking their best, they are pulling out the close wins. It would really be nice for them to put together a blow out performance thursday and beat the Clippers in six games as if they lost that game, the seventh game won't be played until next Monday.

Good Quote from Sam Cassell:
After two timeouts, the Suns got the ball to Bell in the corner, and his 3-pointer over Daniel Ewing -- playing for the first time all night -- tied it with 1.1 seconds remaining. Although the Clippers had a foul to give, Bell caught the ball and shot it. Ewing said he didn't want to foul Bell to risk a four-point play.

Coach Mike Dunleavy said he understood Ewing's thinking.

But Cassell, on the bench at the time, saw it otherwise.

"We had a young guy in the game. It's not his fault that Raja made his shot, but we've got to know better in that situation," Cassell said. "We've got a foul to give, we've got to put Raja Bell in the fifth row with the popcorn man, but we didn't do it."

There's a lot of drama going on in the 3 remaining series. All 3 going to game 7s would be David Stern's wet dream.
