Need a hand please from you detective types

I have a scenario at work, where a man, is essentially stalking a female employee. Only info I have on this puke, is a cell phone number.
805-451-1502

Any methods for finding out information based on the cell # that you guys are aware of? This guy is a real winner, and I'd love to see him get fucked over.

It only gives the carrier, but this might help. This part was free. You can search on there for the actual name for a fee--no clue how much though.

Stalk him back. Randomly call his cell phone everytime you pass a pay phone. Just start it ringing and then walk away.

Sign up a bunch of shit in his name and phone number so he gets pestered by the telemarketers too.

Call your local police department and file a report. If you don't want to involve the police, call information and give them the cell phone number where you can get a name to go with the number and take it from there.

I don't think that the telemarketing thing will work - I think they are not allowed to call cell phones, so they have those prefixes blocked from their automated dialers.

On regular phones you can list like 5 numbers to block from calling you....I'm sure you can do the same with cell phones, I'd block that number while you look into it...her picking up the cell and answering or him maybe close by hearing it ring is just feeding his obsession.

Of course the inability to contact her could also cause him to flip out and go psycho...but that's less likely if he is keeping his identity a secret...more likely if he was say a man in love with her and he felt rejected.

If I were her I would state his cell number back at him, tell him the company hosting it, and tell him it's a federal offense to make prank phone calls.

Otherwise, everyone here could make one quick call from thier cell over the next few days asking him to stop calling people without thier consent....basically flood his cell line and use up all his minutes heh.

Don't bother looking for the guys name based on his phone number, what you need to prove is that there are harassing calls coming from that number. I do not know if this is done differently in the US but here this is what would happen:

1. Go to the police and lodge a complaint. They can't do anything till they have proof but they will have the complaint on file and that is important.

2. The police will probably tell her to start tracking every time the guy phones and harasses her. They will want to know the exact time, date wand possibly a description of what he says.

3. Prolonged conversation is exactly what he wants, don't give it to him.

4. After a period of time (the police will probably set it), return to the police with the list. THEY have the right and resources to look up his name, and with a list they have probable cause to investigate. (Note: because it is a cell phone and she knows the number she might be able to skip steps 2-3).

5. Do NOT block the calls. If its a prank then get him in shit through the police, if it is infatuation blocking his number could make it much worse.

The only real big piece of advice I can give is not to try and fix this yourself, do so through the police. I had this happen to me twice

The first time the guy backed off when I told him I was going to the police (sweet). The second time the guy found out I had gone to the police. He stopped calling but started following me irl which made things much more difficult.

In the USA if you go talk to the police your liable to end up in jail for harassing the guy who was pranking you somehow.

Our criminal justice system doesn't work quite right. I have no faith in it.

Lynxe, Sounds like your stalking case turned out better than mine. I know what to do when you know the person but then again I think that makes it worse.

I went over to get the rest of my stuff from where we were living and he grabbed my arm and tried to pull me back inside the house when I went to leave. (I left with a deep cut on my wrist. ) My new car was keyed by an ex when we broke up after 3 years and he started showing up at my house for no reason.

I filed a complaint and had a restraining order issued and made sure my apartment complex security know that if this car was seen around that the police were to be called. It was pretty scary.
