well, don't go in thinking it is gonna equal lots of money, the initial investment is very big
Easiest way to skill up (imo) is on Darkwood Bows, and you are gonna lose about 20-40p per attempt. This can be around 500-1000p per skill point as well, depending on luck and your wisdom as well.
i dumped 4k into going from 202 to 209, at which point i made a decision to go ahead and look at purchasing a bow
mithril arrows are a potential option for Wood Elves to skill up on, but they aren't cheap either. Acrylia is too annoying with the farming of supplies imo. I like Darkwoods because you sit at one vendor, dont have to smith intermediate parts and just buy, combine, sell, repeat.

Hehe, not quite. I have one bow in stock, and a few ingredients left over. After I use all those, I'll only be making bows for commissions/orders. Here's the few options I've created.
PP price for a premade bow is 20k, yes.
12 BDs no pp for a bow.
10k 6 BDs for a bow.
Bring me the final(tend to ask more if I have to do the earlier combines as well) ingredients and I'll combine, 5k for success, nothing for failure.
Bring me two sets of ingredients. One I'll combine on the spot, success or fail it's yours. The other I walk away with. No pp involved.
Or you can try to woo me with some offer.
Like everyone else, I've got a twink monk. =) He could use a decent main hand weapon, too...^.^
I like to think of myself as being pretty fair on prices. =) Some servers the price is even more, but that's about average.
Success rate is about 40-45% on the final combine. All but the final combine(which trivials >250) is trivial to my various tradeskills. I have geerloks for all skills involved.
Edit: About skilling up - I'd say I put 40k into fletching alone. The price goes up dramatically past 215(100pp+ lost per success), and once again past 235(think losing 220pp or so per success and needing 30 combines for a skill up.) Another 20k or so put in for smithing, brewing, pottery, etc. All done over about 2 months of no xp'ing.

Yes Karana rangers can use the non-blessed arrow, not sure on price.
Someone gave me 1k and all the ingredients except imbue emeralds(gave me non-imbued emeralds, but 10 of them when I only needed 1
) to make them blessed arrows...and I've heard of people buying blessed arrows for 5-6k, so dunno.
You figure out a nice donation and send me a tell in game. =)
