One day, sitting in Norrath, waiting for someone to resurect my Gnome self... I was sitting waiting on some steps playing with the only thing in my inventory, the key to the zone in which I had died.

"Just sitting here naked playing with my Trakkanon Idol" I said into Guild chat.

The resulting hysteria ended up breaking the guild into two seperate factions, with the 'good guys' finally forming our own guild where shit talk was the norm, and we had the best time of our lives for a whole year.

Sometimes that supposedly innocuous twist in thought can lead to greatness.

That dumb ass, gave the guilds first mana robe to a necro. A fucking NECRO! I was the only damn mage in the guild, and the raids couldnt start until I showed up (thanks for call of hero, by the way, Verant, ass holes). Then a wizard got one, you know another class with with health to mana spells. I never got one from the guild.

One day my wizard buddy (who did get a mana robe) decided he wanted to rogue. So since I had a fungi tunic, I traded with him, fungi for mana robe. About 6 months later (during Velious), I got melee envy, and wanted to play my warrior. So sold of the mana robe for another fungi. Sleestack then accused me of selling guild loots. I told that mother fukker to suck my ass.

Fuck I had so much fun in EQ.

Xyun! While my boys and I, I have 4 now (15 to 9) play all kinds of games together and have since they were little (my oldest was playing a dirge in our pull group at age 5 - We played EQ2 for a very long time) my almost 14 year old has been playing WoW consistently the past 4 or 5 years. Just the other day I was relaying to him how you waited up for me till 4 AM when I fell asleep in Scarlet Monastery rockin' him on my shoulder while playing WoW so long ago and what good friends we had in our old EQ community!

I hope all is well! I recently tried to get back into Rift on Prime but Trion killed it by delaying content, trying to decide if I want to play BoA or just keep doing random FPSs and the occasional D3 until something comes out.

I forgot my account info(I'm like 12 PC's beyond what I had back then) and for many years, and in many drunken late night binges I tried every single password I had ever used, to only be denied for too many attempted logins. I sent emails and forgotten password requests for a long time... never one was answered. Until I started messaging Thess again recently, one of my only EQ glory days FB friends and she said, Pffft, let me message Sylvus. 2 minutes later I have access to my account again. Morale of the story is, need something done the EQ-way(the right way), just ask Thess.

I work mostly. I own a little fast food place in Northern Arizona now. Get out to the lake when I can(I live on Lake Powell), but mostly I just wait for the phone to ring. It's super exciting, trust me on this.

I'd like to point out that although hard to work with(in silly ways, in retrospect), Aslanna was the best monk I ever had in a guild. I appreciate that as a GM. I would have loved to see an Aslanna V. Thess though.. just for keepsakes lol.

What? I was the easiest Monk ever to work with! Although I guess if I had to critique myself I would admit I could be the stubborn sort at times. I'm not sure that has improved with age.

I taught Thess everything she knows so obviously I would have won that!

Having said that though, thanks! I had some good times in Sovereign. it sucks that WoW, and probably to a greater extent the shitty expansion that was GoD, basically ended up being the death of it (and many other guilds). It was a sad day when the guild basically dissolved which according to my screenshots was 7:00 PM on 11-Jan-2005.

I miss Vaandal.. And maybe even Avryce as well but don't tell him I said that.

Good thing you switched classes from your original Druid! That druid was squishy! Not as squishy as my bard but still!

We did manage to do some creative three-man stuff (shaman/monk/wizard) with Zeepnome Howling Stones! Didn't we have a necro along some of the time? Their name eludes me. (or was it Zeep's necro?)

That's Gak, he was in OG. Kwon (fishcakes singer) helped on this quest as well I think.

What a great screenshot. True story - I found Gaklek in the swamp pretty much armorless. As a Halfling I had just killed some skellies and handed Gaklek 4 or 5 pieces of Large Bronze armor. That got him to join OG.

Things progressed from there.
