I ordered a juicer from Amazon--should arrive today. I plan to use raw vegetable juice daily as a supplement. Doing research, I see a lot of people that use this to fast or detox, or are simply goofy-diet people.
My goal is to get rad amounts of healthy vegetables in my diet (carrots, beets, kale, etc.). I very rarely eat raw stuff since I like to cook the bastards. I'd also like to concoct recipes that maximize beneficial nutrients per serving.
Does anyone regularly drink juices they make on their own? If so, recipes would be appreciated. I am deathly afraid I'll blend all of these things together and come up with something unpalatable.

Juicin'
Re: Juicin'
Juiced carrots + beets are soooo good.
The problem with juicing is that you're removing veggies' valuable fiber.

Correct. This is more for me starting off the day with a power-breakfast juice. Certainly is not replacing anything.

Ahhh that's such a good idea. I've been trying to kick the caffeine and I think a juicer would be a great answer.

Re: Juicin'
Exactly. Ton of energy for the day. Certainly it isn't something that has the power of 30 unicorns, as the juice-fanatics claim, but it is impossible to ignore the health benefits! It also seems like a good way to rethink unhealthy eating habits such as gorging on too much food or simply eating at a fast food joint.
Granted, I have no plans to completely change my diet--gotta have important things, such as bacon, as well.

1 large bunch kale; 2 whole apples; 3 whole lemons; 4 heads celery, bottoms lopped off; 1 piece ginger root, the size of a man's thumb. Makes 72 ounces.
You're welcome.

Re: Juicin'
I don't know if I could drink 72 ounces. I'd probably have to stop like halfway through and take a 5 minute break at least.

I'd probably core those apples. Seeds have cyanide yo! And juicing them all up doesn't help matters any.Zamtuk wrote:1 large bunch kale; 2 whole apples; 3 whole lemons; 4 heads celery, bottoms lopped off; 1 piece ginger root, the size of a man's thumb. Makes 72 ounces.

Lets see what the internet has to say:
But why take that chance? It takes like 30 seconds!Chewing the seeds from a few apples, or juicing a few apples whole, will not pose a significant risk either.
