Dead Space

Post by Animalor »

I borrowed this game from a friend and am finally tackling it.

The devs really knocked this one out of the park as far an action, ambiance and mood. I've been surpriced 4-5 times already in the first 3 levels and the little baby monsters have left me pretty unsettled.

Kudos to some great production.

I saw you playing this the other night. I got it at release, played a bit, then moved on to other games. It's weird when I do that with games I love, but it happens more often than I'd like to admit. When I did go back and play it, I finished it in 3 days. Loved every minute of it but that goddamn astroid mini game thing. I hated that. A++ experience though. I can't wait for the sequel!

Got passed the asteroid thing on my 2nd try on normal. That did indeed suck. (My hull integrity was down to 8% when I finished the section.)

Finished this on hard tonight. This game creeped me the fuck out, playing it in the dark with headphones on might not have been the best plan! Looking forward to the sequel in a few weeks.

Nothing quite like a sequel coming out to make you play the original, right Funk? Speaking of which, InFamous is on my list because the sequel is coming out. Same with several others...

I've seen a surprising amount of my friends list playing Dead Space this week. It's a good thing!

The original has all sorts of great moments. I really look forward to the sequel. I've been on media blackout so I'm headed in blind!

Shizzle! I thought of getting it when it first came out, and just kind of forgot about it... Then I was browsing upcoming releases and saw the new one, and figured I should give this a shot, I'm always a fan of a good scare.

I will probably try and finish InFamous before the sequel comes out as well.

The only part of Dead Space that I did not like was the asteroid part. Actually, I hated that part. But man, that last boss was really impressive in it's scale. That is a great video game memory!

It's my understanding that the sequel will be allowing a bit more military style weapons and a suit that is not merely a space miner's.

I'd consider Infamous a decent game.. But hardly great! I'm still not sure why it seemed to get all the hype that it did.

Man, fuck the asteroids. Trying to get the achievement where you finish it with 50% hull integrity left. Holy crap I may have to get as stress ball so I can STAB IT repeatedly.

Yes. Am contemplating playing Ignition between them, tho I hear it's kind of horrible. I like to fully experience things tho. I had to talk myself down from buying the armor and weapon packs for DS.

Nya hah! I got the cannon achievement. The number of things I did to help me do it is pretty stupid...

- Turn game brightness to max
- Turn TV backlight to max
- Sit close to the screen
- Vent the atmosphere before getting in the chair (gets rid of some purple fog stuff)
- Mute the sound. This one was surprisingly useful. Guess the sound was distracting me.

After about 25 tries, got the motherfucker!
