unexpected pregnancy
uhhhhh ohhhhhh.
Not sure where to start. I know she's on the fence between abortion and going through with the pregnancy. Adoption isn't an option. At this point, becoming a father would destroy the well-being of both her and me, mostly because of the financial aspect but for other reasons too.
I have a meeting with Planned Parenthood on Thursday and no real gameplan. I don't know anything about what the law says, in case shit goes sour.

Re: unexpected pregnancy
I hate to see it, but most people are not financially ready. You're young, do what you think is best, but when I had my first I was making about 37K a year. We figured it out and now I make a LOT more then that...and still can't afford my kids.Leonaerd wrote:uhhhhh ohhhhhh.

When I was younger, I used to think that the world was doing it to me and that the world owes me some thing…When you're a teeny bopper, that's what you think. I'm 40 now, I don't think that anymore, because I found out it doesn't f--king work. One has to go through that. For the people who even bother to go through that, most assholes just accept what it is anyway and get on with it." - John Lennon

You either support her decision, or CPS will screw you if she wants to keep it.
When I was in a similar position my g/f at the time miscarried early, took me another 18 years to wish she hadn't.

Like the saying goes, "Anyone can be a father but it takes a Man to be a Dad". well there are other variations of it. You will never be able to afford kids. They suck the money out of you. I wouldn't have it any other way. I was pro abortion...until I had kids of my own.
Man up. I know you will/are do/doing this the right way. Don't give up. It is worth it.

If she keeps it... in a couple years you will be happier than you ever thought possible... dad.
If she keeps it... You will be misserable should you split up and poor no matter what happens... dad.
If she aborts... You may dodge the bullet then come to regret it later.
There is no easy answer other than STOP KNOCKING GIRLS UP!!!!!

We have a "termination" appointment on Saturday. The details are hazy for now, but I heard mention of a vaccuum and $300.
For me, this has been a fucking wakeup call. I've demoted myself from captain of the pullout team.

Re: unexpected pregnancy
I was in a similar situation about 10 years ago, luckily for me she took the abortion. I have never for a second regretted it, I think it was the best solution for both of us, and as time has later shown, we weren't meant to be together.
I had my first kid with my wife about 3 weeks ago, and I couldn't be happier now, I love it, but I wouldn't have loved it 10 years ago.

Re: unexpected pregnancy
It turns out she miscarried and I didn't have to spend money on anything other than the ultrasound. Unexpectedly, this situation brought us a lot closer. Even weirder - by the time I'd found out about the miscarriage, I would have been all right with having a baby, even though it would have crippled my life. Sometimes, we're just the simple animals that the man is trying to destroy.

So do you still go to Hell because you had every intention of having an abortion, or did the act of God killing the unborn child give you a free pass?
I require a religious ruling on this one.

You can do what you want. It just seems a bit pathetic that the main thing you seemed to care about was not spending any money. So grats on having more drinking money.

No need to be too harsh on the guy. I think we were all that age once upon a time and had close to the same priorities.

Having to pay $50 instead of $800 is noteworthy. Shitty battle for you to pick since I put my heart into that post. I hope all is well with your lady. A miscarriage can be very emotionally traumatic, whether it is ultimately a good thing(in this case) or not(if it were a planned pregnancy).

Shitty battle? Not really. I'm going by what you posted and that's all I can go on. I had no problem with your posts in general until I saw the part about you not having "to spend money". You really should have left that out as it made you look like a selfish dick.Leonaerd wrote:Having to pay $50 instead of $800 is noteworthy. Aslanna,
I like to be factual with my VV posts. Just like in the "Fuck Women" thread of yore, I hold VV's response to my problems in high esteem and try to not leave anything out. That said, what help are any of you if I ask, "Should I sacrifice everything and start a family?" I don't want your help answering that, as none of you know enough about my world (this much I thought obvious) to be qualified enough to give an opinion I would allow myself to take interest in. Just because I left it out doesn't mean it wasn't my paramount concern.
In short, you don't know what my mindset was. You were just given the information I felt comfortable revealing.

There were tears shed over the miscarriage, but she was really happy (relatively speaking) that she didn't need to pull the plug herself, even though that was her intention. She and I both learned a lot about how we handle tough situations, and I was surprised by how level-headed she remained through it all. We celebrated by getting her on birth control.Canelek wrote:To quote Han Solo... "Great shot, kid. Don't get cocky."

As far as I know there's only one unforgivable sin, assuming you're reading the printed text.
My daughters' mother in law has a long list of things you're permanently damned for. I'm not sure where she gets her ideas but it isn't the bible that's she's so happy to belt people with.
