It's certainly the only place you can ride a motorcycle.
I'm not sure I agree that I'd rather have the support of 150 bikers than 200,000 people in another country. Then again, I'm some pinko liberal commie socialist who would rather see the US respected by the rest of the world.

I was referring specifically to the "freedom" attributed to the Biker culture. This, as far as I know, is not as widespread in Ireland as it is in the US. Most of what Nick posts comes from the exposure he has had to US culture in TV and movies, not the most unbiased education sources. I was actually going to go into more detail in that post, but I really do think it would benefit Nick more to learn about something on his own for once.Forthe wrote:We understand your indoctrination, we find it funny.Boogahz wrote:No, it just isn't something you would understand.Nick wrote:Hahaha oh god "the sound of freedom" - what a fucking idiot.
This is not an age thing, and I am not a McCain supporter no matter what you and Nick may think. I signed up as an alternate to be a delegate for Obama in Texas, and I apologize that I am not a raving lunatic when it comes to "preaching" my political beliefs like so many others on this board are. I have never understood how anyone could stand and shout at another person about how their "party line" is right. Your beliefs and mine were shaped by experiences specific to each of us. There will be no reform of the US political system until people acknowledge this.

You're an idiot, less educated than myself.
Sorry for you.
Europe is the global hub of motorcycling. That includes Ireland.
Yes, we are aware of the morons who think Harley Davidsons are cool. We happen to think they are morons.
I own a bike, btw.

I probably could have worded that better, but I will try to explain the basics for you. The "Biker" culture in the US is not the same as just anyone that rides a motorcycle. I am well aware that the number of bikes and scooters in the EU is very high. The US Biker culture was started by soldiers returning home (WW2, Korea, Vietnam, etc) and seeking their own style of freedom. This was the freedom of riding over the open road, and generally doing what they wanted. This is part of the reason you will also see many bikers supporting things like the POW/MIA cause (which McCain has obvious ties to hence the Sound of Freedom). They do some stupid shit, but the origins of the Clubs are pretty much rooted in that same thing. The "Freedom" of the open road. This has nothing to do with bringing freedom to the Middle East or any other part of the world. Most of the Bikers I know are very compasionate people that spend more time doing the charity rides for children than they spend drinking and breaking shit.
Re: McCain will be the next U.S. President (IMO)
Why is it moronic to think that Harley Davidsons are cool? Now I ride a Honda, but I've ridden Harley's and a lot of their models are great bikes. You also can't really get that engine feel anywhere else. It's like a heartbeat for Harley riders. I personally think the ones my friends ride feel pretty good.

You are absolutely correct, Boog. My dad is a prime example, he goes on probably a dozen or more charity rides a year. For these rides, they all donate money to whatever cause it is, and just enjoy a day in the name of the cause.Boogahz wrote:Nick wrote:Boogahz wrote: I was referring specifically to the "freedom" attributed to the Biker culture. Maybe to someone who lives in a country where they didn't have 10+ seasons of "Funniest Home Videos". We're a bit numb to the crotch shot. It was funny the first 5 million times, maybe. Spitting in someones face? Maybe it's funny to an asshole. Walk outside your chateau and try it on a stranger. Scared of inroads Obama is making with evangelicals, the McCain campaign starts to subtly call Obama the anti-Christ!
http://www.time.com/time/politics/artic ... ml?cnn=yes
Now, I haven't read the drivel that is the "Left Behind" books, although I have heard a bit of the radio drama. It's some crazy stuff that the religious fundamentalists in our country lap up. Anyway, the ad contains quotes from the book that don't fit in normal conversation about a candidate - clearly labeling Obama as the anti-Christ. Wonder if the McCain campaign can sink any lower, I mean... calling your opponent the anti-Christ?!?

McCain's new ad is way out there, claiming Obama would raise taxes on >$42,000 income. He is going to be labelled a liar (with a Romney calling him dishonest ad reinforcing it) if he doesn't smarten up.

The top 1% don't need a government and their money doesn't neccessarily go back into your economy. Once you get that far ahead the money is diversified into other economies as well. The middle class spends money locally which powers your economy (2/3 of your economy is based on consumer spending).Midnyte_Ragebringer wrote:Thanks for the link. McCain has a winner there. EDIT: Looked at the graphs in the article. I get a somewhat negligible reduction (less than 2%... yay...) if either follows through. The Obama plan looks like it would actually increase revenues, but it will be interesting to see how the tax code is implemented.

It sounds to me like you're talking about trickle down economics, and in that case then no, all the people who's job it is to know, do not think so. Not saying that all of them "do not think so," but it definitely isn't unanimous and last I checked, trickle down economics has been taking some pretty big criticism since the Reagen era.

Anyways, if you were intelligent enough to understand what I said, you would realize that there is not a unanimous agreement among the "people who's job it is to know." If you had been intelligent to understand the TV in the past 15 years, or the discussion on this very topic, or how to use google, you would have realized this obvious fact yourself, but alas, this is not the case.

Very intriguing. There is no unanimous consensus on global warming/climate change either. That hasn't stopped factions from thinking they are 100% right. If you are so delicate that you must put someone on ignore who dares to not speak in a fashion acceptable to you, then we will be unable to ever converse.Aardor wrote:I'm sorry I tried to engage you in conversation. Re: McCain will be the next U.S. President (IMO)
Consensus and Unanimous are two different things. Consensus is general agreement while unanimity is total agreement. Consensus does exist on the subject, but you refuse to accept it because agreement is not unanimous thanks to some wing-nuts that are, generally speaking, not experts in the field saying they disagree. Please just stop talking because virtually everything that comes out of your mouth is inane junk not worthy of discussion.Midnyte_Ragebringer wrote:Very intriguing. There is no unanimous consensus on global warming/climate change either. That hasn't stopped factions from thinking they are 100% right. If you are so delicate that you must put someone on ignore who dares to not speak in a fashion acceptable to you, then we will be unable to ever converse.

How much money do small business owners make? Do you think small business owners make middle class income? Think before you type.Forthe wrote:Small business creates the majority of jobs.Midnyte_Ragebringer wrote:Neato. How does that middle class earn their money? Through jobs perhaps? Who creates the majority of those jobs? The upper class perhaps? lolForthe wrote:The top 1% don't need a government and their money doesn't neccessarily go back into your economy. Once you get that far ahead the money is diversified into other economies as well. Are you claiming that a significant percentage of small business owners are in the top 1%?Midnyte_Ragebringer wrote:How much money do small business owners make? Do you think small business owners make middle class income? Think before you type.

Are you saying you only consider upper class the top 1%? Only $600k+/yr is upper class to you? I don't personally. I'd think $250k/yr+ is your upper class. Just my opinion though. Then again your assertion most jobs are created by small businesses was an opinion.Forthe wrote:Are you claiming that a significant percentage of small business owners are in the top 1%?Midnyte_Ragebringer wrote:How much money do small business owners make? I agree with your $250k upper class definition, but their taxes aren't really impacted. The top 1% and the bottom 95% see changes.Midnyte_Ragebringer wrote:Are you saying you only consider upper class the top 1%? Only $600k+/yr is upper class to you? I don't personally. I fail to see how any moral person could justify a tax cut for the top 0.1% that is 2-3 times larger percentage wise than McCain's middle class tax cut. This should fly in the face of even you flat tax proponents.
The small business job creation argument is a GOP talking point, get with the program.
While I think it is irresponsible to be decreasing revenue while running huge defecits at least Obama's tax changes are almost balanced. Cut costs if you want to cut taxes\revenue. Gambling on growth is retarded when you have so much debt.

Typical Midnyte argument. Throw something out there that's the basis for his whole argument without backing it up with any sort of facts. Then when someone calls him out on it (ie asks him to back up his argument by you know, citing actual factual sources) it's up to that person to go look it up.

Yeah just as I thought. I'll leave it to others to waste time trying to have an actual conversation with you. Although I'm not really suer why they really bother.

Some people don't know when they're being talked about as opposed to talked to.

You are just as ignorant and guilty of every little thing you're so quick to run your trap about.
Oh, and for a point of reference, just because you don't see something or can't find it doesn't mean it doesn't exist, no matter how much you'd have people believe so.

You're an idiot, less educated than myself.
Sorry for you.
Europe is the global hub of motorcycling. That includes Ireland.
Yes, we are aware of the morons who think Harley Davidsons are cool. We happen to think they are morons.
I own a bike, btw.
Seriously, Americans like you live in such a fucking fishbowl interpretation of Planet Earth it's actually embarrassing to read the drivel you post sometimes.
Really, it's actually laughable.
You're lucky you're not in a position where you opened your mouth to people with brains. You would be drastically humiliated beyond repair.
Fishbowl bubble living idiot.
