Man, you had me all worked up. I saw the thread title and thought that maybe for once in your life you would have something worthwhile to say, only to open and be disappointed. Jerk.Xanupox wrote:it sucks when you have to stop playing it.

Now you know how I feel every single time I read the first two or three lines of any of your posts.Funkmasterr wrote:Man, you had me all worked up. Going out to play pool now with my fellow klan members. Have a nice night. - Midnyte

Re: AoC Sucks
What really sucks is the shear amount of quests. I want to do the quests in one area but inevitibly you get sent into another area and end up wanting to do those quests as well. I'm one of those who feels they have to do all the quests. I just can't bring myself to abandon quests. It kind of drives me crazy. I have to bring myself to the point where I only focus on the quests in my area. Until of course they are gone or become too hard.

I don't like the quest system in any of these games... The obvious and efficient way to play is to collect all the quests, do all the quests, and then hand in all the quests but it is the biggest sack of shit to play this way.
Oh, I have to save the world? I'm sure that's really important, but let me go talk to everyone else in town and see what they want. Oh, you're hungry and need fish.. I'll get right on that (when I find time, asshole. Starve.) Those nasty pirates didn't pay for sex? The nerve! You dropped a flower box in a dungeon? OMG I'll go get it for you!
When I started AoC, I did one quest at a time... It was more realistic, but brought the game to a crawl, and it sucked.

Re: AoC Sucks
You make a very good point. I'm not sure how they could break out of that rut without making everyone do the cookie cutter kind of quests so they are all the same. Maybe a few distinct quest lines that branch out as you make your choices and that will determine your end game. Make it even cooler on a PvP server where your quest is to defend a mob while another person's quest is to kill the mob. Make some cool conflicts.
Re: AoC Sucks
I usually have two or three quests going at a time. You still see the X's even if the quest is inactive. You still get credit for killing or collecting stuff if the quest isn't active so it's all good.
