Un-Ban Cartalas?

No holds barred discussion. Someone train you and steal your rare spawn? Let everyone know all about it! (Not for the faint of heart!)

Should Cartalas be un-banned?

It was a general reply to what Sylvus wrote. I'm not going to repeat shit I said in this thread 6 pages ago, but I've asked for a lot of people to be banned on this forum. I've offered money, beer, hookers... whatever. To date it's NEVER happened.

I'd stopped reading most of the threads Cart posted in, so I was actually pretty surprised he was banned when it initially happened. That said I also did not care at all, and don't really see what all the crybaby antics are about.
my bad then, you quoted my post and never said otherwise :P

I still see no reason to have perma banned him. If anything, a temp ban would be in order before anything. Some people go off the handle for awhile and then simmer down again. Being an Op, it should be pretty clear that that's the case and no one likes to be threatened in a PM with a ban. It's funny to hear the 'he asked for it!" chants. Those are the same people that probably believe it when a hostage held by terrorists tell the world that they are happy and everything is fine!

I'll keep on posting about it here and there as the mood strikes. My stance is that the only bannable offense if outright spamming or posting child porn and that people need to take lessons on how to scan posts without blowing a blood vessel in their forehead when they spot a flame or troll on a flame board.

It was an overreaction on both sides.

yeah, you still don't seem to get it. I guess that you really should read the rest of the sentence and not stop where the bold print ends in noel's quote. Heck, I even made it a point to include that in bold in my own post! My point is that you basically used the same "democracy" argument that winnow used without going out on the US political angle, and then you came back with a "witty" one-liner about how it is not a democracy.
While trying to figure out why Winnow wants to keep constantly mentioning Cartalas' banning, I tried to cover every angle. Winnow originally wanted a vote to prove that the majority wanted him gone...
Winnow wrote:Cart would not be banned if this board put it to a vote.
Well, to fucking humor that, I mentioned that the majority did NOT want him back, but even so, it doesn't fucking matter because this is not a democracy, so why compare it to one? If there's any argument in my inquiry, it's that this is anything but a democracy.

Wow Nancy. I think you're in need of a vacation! I am guessing that this means I am the next person to be banned?! I mean, if I am that irrelevant I may as well be. What relevance have YOU brought to the discussion, and when the hell did this thread become relevant?

Ok Yolanda, I hear that there are some good vacation deals to be had in your area. Maybe a trip to a nice vineyard for yourself and your wife would work out? Take some time out in the country. Go for a ride. Does your wife ride too? If so, that could be a nice way for you to get out and unwind a bit. Relieve some of that stress.

*edit* did you know that you can now only embed 5 quotes within each other? I think it's a rip off...I was only quoting all of that crap to see how long the posts could get ;)

I too noticed the 5 limit thing the other day and was dissatisfied! I am also tempted to agree that noel could use a vacation, but he has kinda lost some of his bite lately, and if he got time to rest and revitalize he may get his mojo back, and we don't need that!

Can this thread just die already? Please..? It lost it's purpose about 5 or 6 pages ago and although everyone knows my stance, the broken record is starting to really fucking annoy me (and others too, i'm sure). Just let it die peacefully before it ends up in stragi's forum, cause then there's really no coming back.

Hard to believe Cart was banned on this board with all the shit that goes on with both the normal people and the liberals.

Lets get Cart back on board before the end of Summer! No one needs to swallow their pride or anything. Just add him back so we can have a board with fair and balanced flaming again, not a one sided cliqué lovefest.

If you want to return you don't ask to be banned. Kind of defeats the purpose of banning, no? Seems like a simple concept to me. Perhaps I am missing something.

I have kept in contact with him via email since he was banned, and I honestly don't know that he would come back if he was able to. However, I have not directly asked him so I could definitely be wrong.

And Aslanna, you and other people need to quit gripping onto the "he asked to be banned" excuse. Are you telling me you have never been pissed off and said something like that to provoke someone, even though you didn't really want it to happen? I know I have.

Cotton ftw! I'm a fibre-phile and cotton is my favorite fibre to work with (knitting/crochet). It's stubborn, but satisfying to work with. Crocheting a cotton washcloth atm, in fact! One day I'm going to learn how to spin it, like Ghandi!

Yeah, I really like the feel of knitted and woven bamboo. I was really surprised by its texture the first time I touched it. I've been waiting for it to make a big commercial breakthrough so I can buy and wear it regularly. Right now, it's too hard to get in much beyond mail order t-shirts, household linens and stuff like that.
