What does your criminal record look like?

Post by Sylvus »

No idea why this popped in my head. I think it was because I read about Paris Hilton being sentenced to jail time as well as Ron Artest.

Go nuts.

/edit: I got a Drunk and Disorderly or Disturbing the Peace or something like that in college. I was on a rooftop party and threw a bottle off of the roof and a bunch of cops came to investigate, and I was later called down to the station where they charged me with disturbing the peace. I ended up having to do 80 hours of community service. That wasn't fun!

You'd probably find similar laws where you live, they just aren't enforced. I know it was the "law" to have a bike registration or whatever on your bike, but not like they enforced that shit. They just touted it when giving the bicycle safety courses in grade 1 :P

I went to jail overnight and had something on my record, but got it eliminated via a successful probation / drug test ordeal over a year. So I picked squeaky clean.

Speeding ticket. Was doing 120 KM/H in an 80 Zone. Cop gave me a break and fined me for doing 95. The fine for the speed I was going was something like 500$.

DWI. Its expensive, stupid, dangerous, etc etc. Don't do it. 18 months probation, probably costed more than $5,000. At least no one got hurt.

I wasn't even drunk. I had four beers and got pulled over in the Whataburger drive through because there was a black guy in the car with me.

Cheers!

Squeaky clean, almost got a conviction for vandalism when I was 15 because we knocled over a fence. But we repaired the fence and the cops let us off.

A bunch of speeding tickets when I was a teen are all I've got on my record. When I was in the Army and stationed in Germany, I got detained by the Polizei for fighting at a big night club, and turned over to the MPs (some Turkish immigrants started a bunch of crap with a friend of mine, and it blew up to involve about 25 people or so). I ended up with a minor disciplinary action (summarized article 15) that involved doing a lot of leaf raking and window washing around post for a week, and it delayed my promotion to E4 by a month or two, but that's about it.

Speeding tickets don't go on a criminal record as far as I know.

I shot a man in Brooklyn, just to watch him die.

Srsly, I got a DUI back in 2000, spend a night in county, then got arrested again a year later because the goddamn Pinnelas County Sheriff's database was out of date (they thought I had a suspended license). Another day in jail, but the charges were dropped at my pre-trial.

On a fun side note, I broke my left hand fighting in the holding cell. Knocked that motherfucker clean out, so I didn't have to toss any salads during my special night.

I was at fault for a car accident a week after I got my license. About 4 years later I got a speeding ticket in Hawaii, 75 in a 55.

Talked my way out of what should have been a DUI on two separate occasions. Another time I was pulled over for a speeding ticket/seatbelt violation when a car comes out of nowhere and claims that there were shots fired 2 blocks down the road. Another warning.

Other than that, 2 speeding tickets and probably 3 seatbelt violations, allegedly.

wow, as of the time of this post, 10% of the voters have been to jail!!!

WTF doesnt that seem... a bit high?

I guess my background as a police officer puts me on the far spectrum of criminal activities that would land me behind bars, but still.. WTF?

Even higher is the combined, 'hard criminals' totals over 20%.

Prison, Jail & Probation.

I don't know if I would describe my 16 total hours in a county jail as "hard time."

The mandatory AA meetings were actually worse. Those people all drink too much!

Another of the poll options should have been:

"How many of you have done something that could have landed you in jail but weren't caught?"

That squeaky clean number seems a little high!

Taking out our anger via VV is theraputic and allows us to not kill people IRL. Simple.
