Call me nazi moderator or whatever you want, Morgrym, but I'm still going to ask that potentially plot spoiling stuff will be tagged with the spoiler or hide tags. And I reserve the right to edit posts to add those tags.
Also, I suggest you re-read those posts. People were complaining about the amount of spoilers that were left there because of speculation, but we have them for a reason just like this.
Thanks much.

I'm all for spoiler/hide tags. If you go back and read this thread, I used them all the time until people freaked out over them. Speculation involves spoilers as well or it's not very good speculation if it doesn't take into account what just happened in the current episode.
I definitely wasn't trying to spoil anything on purpose. The big debate on this thread over the pages that look like a government coverup with 90% of the text blacked out made the majority (of which I wasn't one) request that the thread become one big spoiler.
People also wait and watch entire series after they've aired. They too will have to be careful reading a seven page thread on a TV series they haven't seen. I'll put it in the title of the thread to help.
/hide tags are better than /spoiler IMO. just one click to reveal vs lots click and drag along with lots of black bars.
This thread was spoiled again several times after my post was edited.

If you don't want it to be spoiled then don't click on the fucking thread. You probably read the end of a book too to see how it ends. Or how about reading these AFTER you watch the show, then it won't matter to you like it does the majority of us.

The [ hide ] tag is much more user friendly anyway. If you must use something, please use that.

[hide]About Peter exploding... I'm still of the opinion that the explosion is going to be somehow related to Radioactive-man, but what puzzled me about the vision is why he was exploding. It's as if what was happening was involuntary and all the other heroes seem to be desperate to get away. Plus, I didn't see Radioactive-man anywhere in the vision. Maybe I just missed him.Winnow wrote:Bah. December 4th Episode Spoilers:
[hide]I didn't want to see the Elf Girl become the dead Hero. She showed a lot of potential as a character although her power maybe was too good for the story. Mohinder needed Elf Girl to make his scenes more interesting. Shame.
Hiro: How to you stop an exploding man?
Well, before Elf Girl bit it, you might be able to talk him out of it!
Clair's finally going to break free of her dad it appears. Who's her dad have left on his side with Hero powers? Elf Girl is dead, and the Mind Wiping Haitian has turned traitor although he may still stick with the dad and just lie about wiping Clair's memory.
Emo Boy is finally piecing everything together and then he stops breathing.
I still don't get the whole Alter Ego side story. They don't seem involved in anything these days concerning the other Heroes.
The Telepath Cop should pork his detective partner and then have the Haitian wipe her mind so there's no drama. Or maybe wipe the Cop's mind afterwards. The lady detective seems up for some fun without being too concerned about other relations.
Nice to see the painter getting off the drugs and still painting.
Emo boy think's the explosion is going to be his fault but he probably will end up absorbing Radioactiveman's powers and then kill himself in an emo worthy way to save the world.
Looking forward to seeing Hiro battle a dinosaur.[/hide]
This is just a far fetched thought, but maybe it's because he couldn't handle being in the presence of so many heroes (absorbed powers) at once?
Something related to Radioactive-man seems far more likely, but I was just throwing that thought out there.[/hide]

the place to check, if you have access to newsgroups, is alt.binaries.comics.dcpAnimalor wrote:No idea. Winnow might be able to help you there thoughDregor Thule wrote:Is there anywhere you can download the comics in a .CBR format or something? I hate trying to read them on their page.
The DCP group posts all weekly released comics there and uses Month/Day format to make it easy to sort alphabetically and find the week you're looking for. I've seen HEROES posted there most weeks but usually delayed a few days. I just checked an the latest issue isn't there.

Rather than who, the Haitian? Was Claire's dad in the bar when Parkman (or whatever his name is) couldn't use his powers against the Haitian?miir wrote:I have a theory that Claire's dad is the damper.
It makes sense from the angle that Mr. Bennett was able to stop Sylar from using his powers, but I had assumed it was something else. How could they keep him locked up if the damper wasn't there to keep him in check all the time? And why could he use his powers when he did?

Chill, ducky. It's a reasonable request, and if you can't comply with such things maybe you should find another outlet for your Heroes-discussing needs. So please refrain from taking that tone with me when this discussion has up until now been very civil, and you're the jackass who's turning it into insulting flame-bait.Morgrym wrote:If you don't want it to be spoiled then don't click on the fucking thread. Spoiler or Hide, I don't care. Just be considerate. Or fuck off out of the thread, which so far has been more speculation than spoiler and as such an interesting read whether you've seen the last episode or not. Better yet, fuck on out of the forum entirely since you can't follow simple rules..

Aww, boo hoo. Please get over yourself. I had already forgotten your little whine fest and moved on to better things. Besides, you said it yourself it's all speculation...for the most part. Again, if someone has read this far on a hot topic and does not expect to see a spoiler, they are a fucking moron. "Moderate" me all you want but you know I am right. Must be getting a tad cold overt here and you feel the need to post flames to warm yourself up.

Whine fest? If you say so. I asked Winnow to spoiler his plot-revealing content. You started the bitching, you are the one who thinks that 2 seconds of your time isn't worth putting tags on shit. So I'm the whiner? Interesting.Morgrym wrote:Aww, boo hoo. Please get over yourself. I had already forgotten your little whine fest and moved on to better things. If you want to call me a moron, go ahead, I've been called worse by far smarter idiots than you. Just follow the simple rule about spoilers and there's no problem.

From a person coming in late to the "conversation", you're the one who seems to be doing all of the whining. You're saying that because you can't be bothered to click a couple of extra buttons, people who haven't had time to see the *last episode* should just stay out of a thread about the *series* entirely. Sounds more like inconsideration than laziness. Everyone else has managed to comply with the spoil/hide tag request since Drol's original post on the matter except you.Morgrym wrote:Pretty muchI am way too lazy to click and drag shit when I can just click a button or read it outright.
It seems that the solution is simple. People should "hide" any spoilers. That way people who haven't had a chance to see the last episode yet can also enjoy the thread while some assholes can "just click a button or read it outright."

Good, cause just this once Drolgin has a fucking screw loose. I use this thread coming active as a reminder to check the torrents, then watch the episode, then check the posts here. Can I ask, what the FUCK is the point of reading posts that you *know* are about the latest expisode if you haven't seen it? Perhaps the problem is your OCD and not people getting sick of pages of black boxes.miir wrote:It's now labeled a spoilers thread, problem solved.
Here's another clue, if you have the Superbowl (or other more important sporting event) on tape then don't fucking hang out on the ESPN website, read the thread in Sports here called "OMFG We wuz robbed", listen to the radio, or watch TV.

Enough abouts spoilers. sheesh. the thread is 6 pages in.
The big question is who is Mr Bennets boss? His decisions arent final we now know. Could it be Linderman behind him as well? If thats the case, then Linderman is linked to everyone. Mob boss, loan shark, Mr Bennet boss.
And will Hiro actually go back to the dinosaurs, or is he just fighting in a natural history museum? If he does go back, it seems this leap would be intentional since hes already wielding his sword. And if hes trained with the sword then hes probably mastered his power. Could he be going back to retrieve something? Perhaps hes chasing Sylar or maybe Peter mistaken leaped when he was close to Hiro.

Mr. Linderman being Bennets boss is a possibility... I hadn't thought about it in that way. I think that they have definitely set him up as a big "behind the scenes" player and we will be hearing more about him regardless.
Also it seems that emo boys recent experiences are begining to turn his brother to the good side of the force. I see emo boy as being the group leader for the heroes.

Has anyone thought of the idea that Mr. Bennett was capturing the hero's so that he could someone make his daughter immune to their powers thus protecting her?
I thought the feedback thing between emo boy and mind reader cop was pretty funny too.
I think Haitian guys ability is to mind wipe people and negate their powers (that's how they captured Sylar). I do think that Claire's dad has some sort of power that hasn't been revealed yet though.
It sucks having to wait until mid January to pick up the show again!

I am under the impression that emo boy can't control his powers. My guess is that he came in contact with the nuke man but was unable to keep the powers under control...hence the explosion.
The elf girl was cute but I didn't think she was all that great for the show. She was a bit too innocent looking based on her background. The woman playing the cop would have been a better fit. She looks "rougher".
I don't think Claire's dad has any powers of his own. The Haitian guy is the one with the damping power and the last episode proved it isn't perfect. Maybe that is why they had to sneak up on sylar.

I'm taking a crap shoot here and thinking that the Hatian released Sylar/removed any dampening from him...the dude does seem more mysterious now that he was talking to Claire Bear.miir wrote:If the hatian is the damper, how was elfgirl able to use her power on sylar when they captured him?I don't think Claire's dad has any powers of his own. The Haitian was also just outside and around the corner. In regards to Eden using her powers around him, I'm going to guess that it's something he needs to direct on someone. If I'm remembering the flashback right, he was there when Eden was first brought in and her power didn't work.miir wrote:If the hatian is the damper, how was elfgirl able to use her power on sylar when they captured him?I don't think Claire's dad has any powers of his own. Claire's dad may very well have an ability, but I don't think he's the damper. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong.
I finally got up to speed on this series last night. Loving it so far.
I think Miir's onto something regarding Claire's dad. If you were a shady govt. organization charged with tracking super-people down you'd want an anti-talent running it.
Might go back and rewatch the damped sections to see if we're being sold a cleverly contructed red-herring re: the Haitian.

I'm not so sure on Mr Bennett having powers. He seems more like Senator Robert Kelly of Mutant Registration Act fame in the Marvel Universe...a human that dislikes mutants/heroes but doesn't mind putting them to use for the government.
I think it's only the Haitian that has the power damping ability. He appeared to be alone in the bar when the Cop Telepath first encountered him. It appears he can put mental blocks in minds as well as wipe them. (close enough to be considered one ability IMO)
"If" Mr Bennett ends up having an ability, I think it will be something unexpected instead of the same power as the Haitian. His character works well as just a determined normal human government agent out to track down heroes for experimentation and to exploit them for government use. After learning that he continually wiped his wife's memory and even his real son's, I find it hard to believe he really cares for his foster daughter and is just out to protect her.
I'm convinced Mr Bennett is bad news though. I initially thought he might end up being the "money" behind the newly formed group of Heroes with deep "Black Ops" pockets.
Not being able to accurately predict the future of the show is what makes it so good.

Mindwiping can be seen as a form of mental supression as well tho, so that doesn't really fly with me. We can call him The Supressor.vn_Tanc wrote:Further evidence to support the Miir Hypothesis:
When interviewing Sylar he tells him "you are the only one I know of with more than one ability". Which somewhat precludes the Haitian having both mindwipe _and_ talent supression abilities.

Nice for the writers to know there will be a full second season:
HEROES Fansite:Renewal Opens Up Heroes
Tim Kring, creator and executive producer of NBC's hit series Heroes, told SCI FI Wire that the network's announcement of a renewal for a full second season allows the writers to explore more story possibilities. "In network TV you never take these things for granted," Kring said in an interview at the Television Critics Association press tour in Pasadena, Calif., on Jan. 17. "And while we're clearly a success, these things are always fabulous. And I think how early it was done is just a huge show of support for the show."
On Jan. 17, NBC announced that it was ordering up a full second season of the hit series, about ordinary people who discover they have extraordinary abilities.
The writers are still breaking stories for the end of season one, which will run a full 23 episodes, but have already started talking about where the series will go in season two. "It is forcing these discussions about season two, and that's been actually one of the really fun things about this kind of storytelling," Kring said. "It seems to want to generate ahead far enough so that you're never really in that much trouble. It's amazing. I was sort of panicked by the idea of having to take a break at the end of this season and go off and think about season two, and it's just naturally starting to come up in the writers' room, and we're putting stuff up on the board. While I had big tentpole ideas of where I wanted it to go, the meat is actually getting filled out, and every day I look at that board, and I smile, because it's one less thing I have to think about on my hiatus."
Kring assured viewers that the storyline concerning the looming apocalypse will be wrapped up before the end of this season. Although some questions will be answered, he promised that others will be raised in the finale. "It's not necessarily a cliffhanger in terms of what has been set up so far, storywise," he said. "It's more of a cliffhanger as to the welfare and well-being of several of our characters. But there will be a payoff. ... It plays into where we kick off at the top of the season." Heroes returns with an all-new episode on Monday Jan. 22 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT. —Cindy White[shadow=][/shadow]

Good ep. last night.
I really like the scene with flyboy Petrelli, Hiro and Isaac.
I wonder if the new character introduced last night and the one coming based on the comic that's on NBC'com will become regular cast members.
Did I imagine the prison scene or was it Nikki that broke the nightstick and not evil alter-ego Jessica?
I'm also happy they didn't use the mind-wipe story to write Zack off the show. He may be a minor character but I like the kid.
