Online furniture store recommendations?

Post by Sylvus »

I need a nightstand to go next to my bed, preferrably a black one, with a drawer or two and room for my clock and lamp. Anyone have any recommendations on a place to order something like that? I would just as soon order it than drive around to furniture stores to look for something that they may or may not have, so any advice is appreciated.

http://www.ikea.com/

Here, these are cheap and very stylish in a European sense... get one for each side of the bed... no drawers though, have some with drawers but they are more expensive.

West Elm has very nice modern furniture and it's in general much better quality (though slightly pricier) than Ikea.

I don't want to hijack this thread, but I'm also looking for some new furniture. I want to get a new bed. I'm looking online for the same reason Sylvus is. I would appreciate it if anyone knows any good sites that sell bed sets.

Thanks.

Don't forget to check overstock.com

They have nice furniture for very low costs, and you can sometimes get ridiculously inexpensive shipping.
Oh, my God; I care so little, I almost passed out.

I would avoid Ikea if you want to keep the furniture for any amount of time. The materials are very shoddy. They are really best at furniture for strict space solutions in rental places that you will only keep until you purchase a place.

Really just a heads up. We purchase from Thomasville but I have no idea if they carry what you're looking for, we just know it's good quality, sturdy, attractive stuff

Personlly I have no idea about the Quality of Ikea but I've got some friends that sware by the stuff. If you are just getting a nightstand I would look their or the next post because it's cheap. However if you are looking for a bedroom suite I would consider going to a local store and seeing what they have for you too look at. Usually beds, unless you want something only to keep a couple of years, are something you keep for a while and are quite expensive so I would think you might want to check it out before purchasing it.

Pretty much any quality. Nothing too cheap, but it's not something I plan on turning into a family heirloom.

I was thinking you could buy something cheap and then place this thingy over it so you 'd have a place to hold your nightcap drink and other stuff.

I have gotten a few decent pieces from:

http://furnitureonline.com/

Nothing heirloom quality but you can read the specifications on most pieces and tell what you are getting.

http://www.crateandbarrel.com you have to look around, they designed their site poorly imo for searching. Given that, they do have some very nice things.

Haha!!! Sofa King ftw!

Costco can be hit or miss, but sometimes carry grerat furniture for cheap. Otherwise, follow Kyoukan's advice. :)
