Dont do the laser pointer thing, you might end up getting fined for it:Winnow wrote:Buy a laser pointer. Cats will chase around the little red dot nonstop. Be careful of your speakers later on as cats like to use floor standing speakers as scratching posts.
Grats on the cat. Was it auto generated or did you pick the stats?
i declawed mine many years ago but for some reason he still manages to beat the shit out of the other neighborhood cats in the rare fight for some reason. He used to be indoor only but when he was about a year old i let him go outside (he spends about 3/4ths of his day indoors) and fortunately he takes care of all his business out there taking away the entire litter box problemDrasta wrote:don't declaw their front paws its mean! didn't we have a giant debate about this before?
But never leave the super soaker where the cat can find it, My cats found where I hid mine and gave it a thorough soaking of their own...:/Nilaman wrote:Training cats not to do things is the best part about owning a cat.
There is no better excuse to walk around your house with a loaded super soaker then when you are training a cat not to do things!
I can't tell if this cat is happy or not...probably wanted the pink ones!Kaelina wrote:Cute kitten, makes me want another one! =)
I don't know if you plan to declaw or not, but these are a good option - http://www.softpaws.com/. Got them on our 3 indoor cats since we got new furniture!

So amputating the first joint on your cats front feet for no reason than to 'protect your furniture' is not inhumane? Wouldn't that be like cutting out the vocal chords of your newborn so you're not disturbed by their crying?there isn't anything inhumane about declawing a cat's front claws
Bullshit.they fight, climb trees and defend themselves with their back claws. fronts are only really used for hunting.
Free-roaming cattle 4 teh win!Aslanna wrote:How many people who think it's inhumane to decalw a cat have no problems eating meat? Those poor animals being raised only to be slaughtered for your consumption. How humane is that! I bet some of you are even veal eaters.
Hypocrites.
(If you're a vegetarian against declawing then you're ok!)

Aslanna wrote:Exactly. Therefore declawing a cat isn't as inhuman as eating it. Which you do probably do everyday without thinking twice about. Thanks for making my point!Stragi wrote:whatever korean

It's all relative. Therefore declawing a cat isn't as inhuman as eating it. Which you do probably do everyday without thinking twice about.
Christ did anyone tell my old cat this? Because he didn't have any front claws and he was up every tree in the neighborhood every chance he got. Cats use their rear claws to climb because they are a lot more powerful than their fronts. They also don't have the mobility built into their shoulders and joints to propel upwards.[/quote]miir wrote:Bullshit.
A declawed cat can't climb a tree.
Haha. My wife and I went in saying "smooth hair, brown, female dachshund" because Molly was picked out as the name. Ended up with a black and tan, long hair male who, also, just so happened to be the cutest of the litterKguku wrote: I was looking for a short haired female cat, that was really my only specific requirements, but she's definately the cutest one in the litter!
When cats fight other cats they tend to use all 4 paws and mouth...Grasping with the front and pummeling with the rear and biting whatever gets near the mouth...They also use their hinds to pummel prey to subdue it while holding with the fronts and biting...kyoukan wrote: Cats act aggresively with their front paws, but fights aren't fought with them. Have you ever been in a fist fight? Because it is much more like a catfight than you may think.Cats act aggresively with their front paws, but fights aren't fought with them. Cats fight by trying to roll onto their backs with the other cat on top and use their hind legs to rip. Cat's front claws aren't strong enough to use for anything but scratching and grabbing prey.

We bought it locally here at a small pet store. Not seen the exact thing anywhere else, only seen it without the "cooling" element. It doesn't keep it freezing but definitely colder than room temperature. Has a small filter that you easily pull out and replace as well.Siji wrote:Link prz!We do have this water fountain thingy though that keeps the water cool and with oxygen for them. The cats love it!
