Trying to figure out a game show...

Post by Coatlicue [KoE] »

Years ago, there was a game show for kids on TV. Xunil and I can't remember if it was a Nickelodeon or Disney show, or a network show.

It's a kids show, where you win prizes by running around and pressing buttons on prizes and then a red siren goes off, and it's kinda on a huge platform, and the kids were partners with their siblings and answer questions about the other person.

Does anyone remember this, even remotely??

My hubby and I can't figure out the freakin name of it, and I'm really wanting to see if the show is on any of our stations which feature old school game shows and shit.

Thanks!!

Zoe: No one's gonna force you to go, Jayne. As has been stated -- this job's strictly speculative.
Jayne: Good. Cause I don't know these folks, don't much care to.
Mal: They're whores.
Jayne: I'm in.

Double Dare perhaps? In DD they didn't answer questions about each other though - just basic pop culture.

I know exactly what you're talking about, Coatlicue, I'm not positive on the name though.

I want to say it was called "I'm Telling" or something like that.

It definitely was not Double Dare.

Actually, the same day Coatie posted this we saw Finders Keepers on TV, which is another game show from our childhood that we completely forgot about. That was the one where they had a two-story house set up with like 10 really different rooms, and the kids were given a clue to find something and they had to tear apart the room to find it.

LOL, I saw Xunil's name on this thread and thought he was answering Coatie's question.... that made me laugh...

Was it like Double Dare Extreme, or Advanced or whatever was around for a while?... :p

What was that show where people got slimed? Waaayyy before double dare... back in the days when Nick had Dangermouse (I loved that show *tear*)

I was doing some digging on my lunch break and found a show that I think we may be thinking of. It was called Fun House, and it had a bonus round at the end where you had to go through a big obstacle course at the end and light up prizes. For some reason though, I don't think this is the game that Coatie and I were thinking of...at least I'm not sure if it was the game that I was thinking of :) Here's a link to a fan site with pictures etc.

Definitely, positively was not Double Dare...this show was much more obscure than that :)

As far as the sliming show, are you talking about You Can't Do That on Televion? Kinda the cross between Monty Python and SNL for kids..

Heh, You can't do that on television was hilarious. Its where Alanis Morissette got her start.

As for that show, its sounds very familiar.

Edit: Maybe 'Fun house' was the one you are thinking about where people get slimed?

The reason I don't think it's fun house (although that was a killer show too) is that the picture I have in my head about the show that I think Coatie and I are both thinking of is different than fun house.

What I'm picturing was a stage with all the prizes on it, and the kids would actually run up to the prizes and hit a big red plunger-like button which would light a red siren-light by the prize. I can't remember the format of the show at all...I want to say that it was the type of show where the two kids were sequestered and I think the point was to try to pick the same prize as their partner, and they would only get the prizes that they matched on or something. Like they would only be able to pick a certain number of the prizes or something like that.

Arrgh...so frustrating :)
