my nuts in a vice banging my head against the wall

Post by Kriista »

my friends birthday is on friday and ive been working on an elaborate dvd/movie/soundtrack thing for the last few months, crunch time is in and im finishing up shit, printing out final prints burning discs etc..

but ive hit a snag, that i cant figure out

i cant get the stupid fucking cd labels to print right

to explain:

i got some memorex cd labeling kit pos thing and found hte program to be horrible so i used the templates it came with to work in photoshop, got everything like i want it, golden now heres the problem

the template/document is 8.5x11, makes sense, so is the paper
the items are layed out where they should

now, when i go to print(epson 1280 nice ass printer)is says printable area to big and to crop etc.., if i dont crop shit gets shrunk, if i crop it crops off god knows where and shit doesnt line up etc...

kinkos doesnt print on this type of paper

so the thing is, how in the fuck do you work with a document size the size of the paper your using(to make sure the items line up properly) but be able to print it (nothing in the image comes near to the edge)

do i somehow have to trick photoshop?, the printer?

any advice/suggestions would be greatly appreciated as im down to a few days left and the impact of the wholly profesional looking project would go out the window if its sharpie on cdr/dvdr time

thanks

try cutting 0.5" off the sides, printing it on a normal sheet to overlay and see how it lines up without wasting one.. then trial and error correct your photoshop to line up.

just one way..
