Open Beta now available to download...URL inside

Post by Keverian FireCry »

You need to have a closed beta login to get it started, but I've heard the direct link to download it can be used by non-beta people aswell. So someone from closed beta needs to go find us that direct link... :D

:!: edit: found the direct URL, here ya go: :!:

Well this torrent seems to be an early download. There will actually be another stress test BEFORE the open beta starts and I'm not sure if this client is for stress test AND open betas or if the stress test 2 will be a seperate client.

I think once the open beta is about to start Fileplanet will be offering another option to download it.

....

THIS JUST IN!!! :P Blizzard just now updated wordofwarcraft.com with info on the next stress test, go there for info.

Kev, or anyone else who has signed up, can you post or pm me the link to the account creation process you get in the email? I currently have FP access (and have signed up for the stress test) but don't actually have access to the email address itself - thanks.

edit: Ralrona took care of me :) Thanks again

Well I have a Fileplanet Final Stress Test account now, and I'm DLing it at 160kb/sec, compared to the 5kb/sec from the BlizzTorrent...

I am also happy to hear that people in the Fileplanet Final Stress Test will automatically continue on to Open Beta with all of their Stress Test Characters. :D

I'm not sure, but on FAQs it kind of sounds like the "Open" Beta will be limited..."first come first serve" it said(I thought they let everyone in?)...So be ready for Open Beta in about a week.

From Fileplanet Frontpage:
Blizzard Entertainment and FilePlanet bring you the opportunity to join in the World of Warcraft Final Stress Test! FilePlanet Subscribers gain access to the Open Beta one week early, so sign-up now and play
So basically Open Beta starts today for any Fileplanet Subscribers that sign up quick enough... It's $15.95 to sign up for 90 day membership if anyone wants to, but you better hurry because the Stress Test accounts are limited.

What kinda sucks is that I have to start over on the stress test servers to play with friends and family that got into this beta. Oh well, not like I dont have to start over again in a few weeks anyways.

Will post names and server tonight when I get home from work.

No the link I gave should work for anyone and is a way to get the DL started now instaead of next week when Open Beta starts. Fileplanet is another way to get the DL early and gives people access to the Stress Test, which is basically aprequal to beta, but that requires a subscription.

I signed up using fileplanet and it said I would be contacted with another group. This happened to anyone else?

You guys will get in, same happened to my lady.... she signed up at 6pm lastnight. Had to wait 2 hours to actually be able to sign in for Stress slot, 1 hour later and email saying she had a spot.

6 am this morning, she was emailed a D/L link and Account Key.

PvP is pointless ATM because, other then rampant ganking there is no point to the PvP. Even on the normal beta servers you'll usually have a group of one side or the other attack an opposing town drawing people out to PvP so...really..why bother playing on a PvP specific server.
