What are you going to do with it? Show it to your friends, then have it collect dust?

A device like that isn't even good for killing anything, as it would be fairly clumsy as a weapon. I can say with total certainty that you could find something more meaningful and worthwhile to spend your money on than a wannabe Wolverine claw. I realize that some people collect exotic cutlery so that they can impress their friends at the LARP conventions and renaissance fairs, but in the words of Droz from PCU...

It would have been cool back when I collected knives, but I sold most of my collection.

Not sure how practical it is though. Then again I didn't purchase practical knives much.

Make for a great movie prop or part of a halloween costume (provided you don't get arrested).

But for fighting...it's too large and awkward...and way to hard to conceal...be hard for them to disarm you though.

Looks more like some sort of tool then a knife to me. Might be useful if the are buttons on the grip to make those blades come together like sidecutters or something. Most people would hurt themselves just walking around with that thing, let alone trying to fight with it

keep waiting

this thing looks too heavy and clumsy to be practical. And even if you aren't planning on using it, what is the purpose of designing a weapon if it doesn't work.

Waran on those "knuckle dusters" you have....are both the inside and outside edges sharp?

Image

To me it looks like just the inside edge is....that would be difficult to use also. But I have to assume it's just a trick of the lighting and the outside edge is sharp too.

Even if the outside edges aren't sharpened you could use the tips to great effect in a slashing manner. Mostly I think they're meant to be punch weapons tho. Piercing fun.

People say its clumsy but that weapon was obviosuly desighned to be used by someone like a bigass 250 lb steriod using bodybuilder with simple technique and lots of power, not for the average joe.

That's all fine and dandy, but I can tell by the blades that it isn't to be used for piercing...and therefor to be used for slashing.

Something with that much mass carries a lot of momentum when swung, and therefor will not be a very graceful weapon, in that once you swing, you're swung, and will not swing again for a while. Therefor it is clumsy. (that was fun to type)

I don't care how big and tanked out you are, when you swing something, it's going to continue on it's path...you don't stop it without like, damaging your arms.

Not only that, but with the oh-so-elegant side blades, the likely hood of you cutting yourself with that thing is fairly high. If someone was wearing one or two of those claws in a fight, the best thing to do would be to let them swing a few times, dodging and avoiding, because they'd get extremely tired very quickly. Either that or they'd cut themselves when they forgot about the side blades.

You could of course combat said self endangerment by wearing high density armor to protect yourself from...well yourself...

but that would require hydralics, and motors, and shit I don't even want to think about.

BUT FUNNY!

Like a junkyard iron man...except he'd suck, because with all that added weight, he'd be so slow, you could run up, kick him in his iron balls, and run away before he could swing that big fucking clumsy 'thing' at you.

For some reason, I kept seeing that scene in "The Golden Child" where Eddie goes into the monestary to get that magic blade.

"Iiiii waaannnnt the kniiiiiiiiife.

That and fat nerds having mock duels at Shaerra's Klingon themed wedding.

Just the inside edge is sharp, the tips of the blades are extremely sharp, but the outside isn't sharp at all.

i feel as if i could post a picture of a wooden stick and you would articulately debate on what kind of combatant it was obviously made for and how it hold up in real combat in an urban enviroment.

The big mecha knife thing....

Look at the inside blades...they are obviously meant to be slashed with, they aren't very pointy...now the outside edge is the sharp LONG edge there...it would be hard to slash with the inside edge anyway.

Now look at the outside blades...odd...the outside edge of them looks dull. What is that some sort of child safety device? You just basically cut 3 inches of knife off the larger knives.

Then angle of the inside blades and the open hand area would make parrying a risky business...you could catch the other guys blade right to your knuckles.

It's made to look cool...it's definately not designed for function.

If someone wanted to fight me, I'd be hoping they were wielding two of those things. It'd make it much easier to kick their ass while they tried to swing those ridiculous things around wildly.
