Cruisers and Crotch Rockets

A ways up someone mentioned a virago.. this is the kind of bike I learned to ride on , an 1100 i believe. It was heavy but still light enough to be able to handle ok at lower speeds, a good bike to learn on in general.

I do not prefer cruisers however, and am going to buy a crotch rocket in the next month or so, I am personally looking at either a suzuki gsxr 750, because it is a nice bike, at a reasonable price. Or if not that, a R6- because it is a very nice bike as well, and I like the color options, and front light design more, but it is also a few thousand more.

If I had money though, I would go with the Benelli tornado.... or aprillia for a mid price ranger bike.. Those are my opinions.

Back to the topic on hand.

You can get a bike but as many bike owners pointed ot they are not overly safe. You are harder to be seen and much less protected in the event of even a slight collision you will probably get very hurt and/or die.

I lost my cousin Sean in a motorcycle accident 2 hours ago. I don't know the details yet.

Heh, a kid at my school got a crotch-rocket about 3 weeks ago and just smashed it into a tree across the street from my house this afternoon. Bike got totaled and he managed to launch off the side and slide for about 50ft across someone's lawn then into the street. If a crotch-rocket is a kid's first bike it's a pretty sure bet he'll wreck it...

That's bullshit, wether you wreck or not has nothing to do with it being a crotch rocket. Bunch of sport bikes are way easier to drive than cruisers and a million times easier to drive than choppers.

I agree. The person riding the bike determines whether it si safe or not. I will agree taht there is less room for error on a bike though than in a car but there are a lot of 'tards that shouldn't be driving cars either.

BTW, I know someone who was decapitated riding a crotch rocket and it still doesn't change my opinion. Sucks he died but he's riding a fucking motorcycle in heavy traffic. The chances of you being in a fatal accident or severe injury accident are much higher. If a jackass cuts me off on purpose, they will be dragged out of the car and damaged as to an equal or greater extent thatn I would have been had I been hit by them. If it is pure negligence due to cell phone or other ridiculous bullshit, then said device will end up in a body cavity of theirs of my choosing. If they have the audacity to file assault charges afterwards, then they will also be getting served with a complaint for attempted homicide.

Bikers are even less imtimidating after having one side of their body hamburgerized. I saw this one guy leave pieces of himself all over the boulevard after he ate it at highway speed (even though we were in a 30mph zone). They had to have a second rescue unit come back and pick up his hand and right leg below the knee. The foot still had the shoe on it.
