rims?

Post by Neziroth »

Has anyone here recently invested in rims for their car(s)?

Looking for something like 17'' chromes but I can't seem to find a set for under like $500 before tires... Is that really the going rate or am I looking in the wrong places?

A set you would want for your car will cost 500+. A good set will cost around 250 each, with out the tire.

So around 700-1k will be the low end of good rims. Throw in 400 or so for a set of low profile 17 inch tires and you can look at 1.5k for the set up.

If your gonna do it, do it right imo.

he also knows how to put them on, so does that mean he knows about rim jobs?

I don't blame you. I wouldn't pay $1,500 for a rim job either. I don't care if Raistin recommends "If your gonna do it, do it right imo" (sic).

Much <3 for the black steel rims that came with my car. No style points but $1500 in the bank!

I personally wouldnt spend that much on rims or tires. Im just saying, if the point of getting them, is to look so bling. Do it where you dont get the cheep ones that look like shit, cost 100 bucks and will warp easy.

Check out ebay also. Can find good deals on there

Big rims are silly looking unless on some highend sports cars... and downright retarded on suvs and trucks. :P

The best option I've started putting on my car now is the option of gas.

Spend the $500 on gas ... you will still have the same chance of getting laid.

I have 18"s on 2003 honda accord coupe and it looks fine, just make sure you get small enough tires. Mine are 40 series and it comes out to be the exact same diameter as my stock rims/tires.
I payed about $1200 through wheelguyz.com.

hehe, there is actually a place here that somehow does Rent to Own on Rims and Tires. I have no idea how they don't have such a loss ratio on them to actually make money even with the formulas for figuring Rent to Own rates.

if you do happen to buy rims and tires for your car...make sure the total diameter doesn't change from old to new. Otherwise, your Speedometer will be off, as well as other things.
