Finished the story at level 37.

A level 34 Venomous Hornet pistol (corrosion) took me to the end. That thing is amazing. That and Stormfront Shock MIRV grenades did the trick.

Only problem I had was killing myself a few times. I had so much elemental damage going that if mobs got close to me and exploded, I'd die from my own element damage. i also pretty much forgot to use my active skill the last 3 levels so it was all weapons and grenades.

I did use my gold keys a few times. I didn't get a single legendary from a regular loot chest. Not a single one. None dropped from mobs. I got one or two from boss mobs and from the one boss I farmed but that was when I was under level 20. So not sure about those complaining legendary weapons (or anything legendary) dropped too much. Not for me. I didn't farm though later in the game.

I might try to get to level 50.

I got a level 50 Venomous Hornet but haven't used it. Honestly I'm lazy and hate reloading so I have been using the Infinity a lot. Not the greatest damage but it's consistent and I have the 10% increased firing rate Guardian Rank but probably need to find a Vladof mod as well. I wouldn't mine a shock or corrosive version as well though.

I have dropped down to Mayhem 1 and have been doing the quests and stuff working on the Platinum so that the rewards are level 50. I gt a level 50 version of the Transformer shield so will have to try that on KaV and see how it does.

As far as Gold Keys go yeah that shit is a scam. I probably used over 150 of them in BL2 and not sure I ever got a Legendary. That's why I'm not that concerned with trying to claim the lame shift keys that are good for like 3 hours before expiring. If anything I'd use a few every 5 levels or so while leveling up.

If you want XP and money my advice would be to switch to Mayhem Mode 3 and just find some trash to kill. Even the small boxes and stuff laying around will have lots of cash. Oh and go offline since there is an XP glitch and you get a lot more XP in MH3 if you're offline. Just be careful with the guardian rank stuff. I'd recommend not spending any of those points or putting anything in the vault on Sanctuary while offline.

Oops, I can see how the way I worded that paragraph can be confusing. I got legendaries from gold keys, I didn't get them from world loot chest or as random drops.

I used the keys multiple times using the profile save trick.

Profile (not individual character save) is where your bank is stored. There's a mod out there to give yourself 500 bank inventory slots. That's a bit too much as it lags the game (probably crash a PS4/Xbox but semi powerful PC could handle it). I think using a mod to increase the bank to 150 wouldn't be game breaking and add to quality of life.

Probably need to use editor instead of copy someone else's profile as that also stores achievements, skins, etc

I tried the 500 bank slot mod but it came pre-filled with 500 level 50 legendary weapons, shields , relics etc and having all those pretty much ends the reason to play so I'll try and find the editor and just add 100 or so bank slots to my own profile.

I see! I received a couple from random chests while playing the campaign. In Mayhem 3 it's definitely more common but even then it's like 1 in 100 or something. I still think the gold keys are a scam! At least based on all the ones I used in BL2.

I don't know how it is on PC but the UI on the console version is a laggy mess and I'm surprised they released it like that and have yet to fix it. That seems to tell me maybe they can't fix it. When I press the menu button it shouldn't take 2-3 seconds for it come up. And nearly as long to move to various other tabs within that menu.

Yeah. That doesn't sound fun although I guess it can be fun to mess around with the various items. In a loot chase game being able to easily get any item is a definite impediment to getting longer enjoyment out of a game. But on the plus side that time may be better off spent elsewhere to begin with.

The main 'complaint' had to do with Mayhem 3 mode where the drop rate was supposedly high. I have seen this since when you go offline it disables the hotfix so you can get pre-nerf drop rates (and XP). I leveled up a second character and set the mode to cooperation and have had 2-3 legendaries drop at once (1 with one character, 2 on the other) when killing one of the basic named mobs. I imagine doing one of the vault bosses would have been even crazier. It's not all the time but I'd say I could get a legendary to drop at least 25% of the time. I've going to have to try one of the vault bosses offline and see what the legendary rate looks like.

Anyway, after getting three more characters to Sanctuary I have to say I REALLY hate the main antagonists. I get that you're not supposed to like them but I dislike them for a whole different reason than I disliked Handsome Jack. He was just a much better character and far less annoying. Tyreen's voice is like fingernails on a chalkboard (look it up, kids) and I hates them so very much, my precious!

Yep - the antagonists were definitely a big factor in why I walked away. Every time one of them talked (which is like half the fucking game) I wanted to mute my TV. I know they're poking fun at influencer culture with them, but influencer culture is a joke anyhow so the comedic value for me isn't there, and just leaves the annoying part.

Weak! I even let the entire ending credits scroll because I was amazed at how many people worked at Gearbox. Didn't know they had that many employees.

They do need a way to cut scenes though. At minimum for second playthroughs if even if they don't want to let you do it the first time.

I was ok with the voice acting. I still say, "Wanna catch a riiiiide? from Borderlands 2.

They should have included more of grown up Tiny Tina though.

Want to know why Scooter is not in Borderlands 3? Maybe you should finish Tales From the Borderlands!

Most of the voice acting I don't have a problem with. And it's not so much the acting part of the voice that I hate about Tyreen, and Troy to a lesser extent, it's just the actual script itself. Borderlands 2 was the better story and I played through BL2 many many times on both PS3 and PC and it never bothered me.

A few fixes (that should have been there at release) on the way today:

NOTES FOR PATCH 4
NEW CONTENT:
Takedown at the Maliwan Blacksite

Lorelei has recruited the Vault Hunters to destroy a top-secret weapon Maliwan has been developing at their Blacksite. You and your squad should prepare for an extreme challenge because this content is balanced for four players at level 50. You can gain access to the Blacksite via a mission found on Sanctuary III after completing the main campaign with that character.
Takedowns feature special rules not found in the rest of the game! Respawning is disabled, so make sure you and your co-op partners get Second Wind or you'll spectate until the team wipes. If you do die, you're not out permanently! Die during the first half, you'll get to rejoin your team if they defeat the Valkyrie Squad. If you're out the second half, but your team manages to defeat Wotan The Invincible, you'll get to respawn to enjoy the rewards you didn't completely earn!
Make sure your squad is in the session before you throw the switch inside the Air Lock, or anyone who joins after the switch is thrown joins as a spectator!

Mayhem 4

Mayhem 4 is here for players looking for the toughest challenge in the game! Mayhem 4 adds another increase to enemy health, increases the loot drop chances, and adds a set of new Legendaries! Because the health value greatly increased, Mayhem 4 also slightly adjusts the random modifier system. Mayhem 4 will only roll one positive modifier for the player and one enemy bonus modifier. We want players to try different builds without severely hampering their ability to take down enemies in Mayhem 4. Note that Mayhem 1-3 are unchanged.
In addition to increasing enemy health and adjusting the modifiers, Mayhem 4 contains new Legendary weapons and class mods for players to hunt. These new pieces of gear will contribute to new builds and new ways to kill enemies!
To support Mayhem 4, we changed the Mayhem station slightly. Players will activate Mayhem through the center pillar and increase or decrease Mayhem levels by using the pillars on each side. Looking forward, we will monitor the challenge of Mayhem 4 closely. We're working hard on Mayhem 2.0, which will add brand new gameplay additions to Mayhem Mode in the future. Until then, we hope you enjoy the challenge and new loot!
Bank Expansion

All characters now begin the game with 20 bank slots instead of 10. The existing Bank SDUs will give everyone a total of 100 available spaces. An additional 10 Bank SDUs are available to purchase in Marcus's shop on Sanctuary III using the in-game cash currency, each awarding 20 spaces, for a grand total of 300 total bank spaces!

Dedicated Loot Pools for Bosses

All bosses have been updated with new loot pools that give them dedicated Legendary items to drop. Players can now discover which bosses drop their favorite gear and more easily farm their favorite items. Let the hunt begin!

Additional Vending Machines

The following environments have received additional vending machines. They can typically be found before bosses or the mid waypoint in larger environments:

Athenas
Atlas HQ
Lectra City
Jakobs Estate
Voracious Canopy
Tazendeer Ruins
The Pyre of Stars
Target Dummy

Players can take out their aggression, or test their gear, on a Handsome Jack target inside the shooting range on Sanctuary III.

END GAME CHARACTER BALANCE
For this patch, we adjusted many passives involving companions such as Iron Bear, Digi-Clone, and FL4K pets in general. We wanted to increase their viability for later levels of Mayhem while also targeting some passives that were underperforming compared to some others. Iron Bear saw increases to the base scaling and additional bonuses were added through passives and augments. We allowed some of Zane's kill-skill bonuses to stack up to two times, increasing their output under certain conditions. FL4K pets also saw some increases over level to their damage so that they didn't feel underpowered for Mayhem Mode. We are currently happy with the variety of Amara's builds, but we are always monitoring feedback and will adjust if necessary.

Moze

Iron Bear Damage increased per level, to a total of just under 150% at max level
Desperate Measures now gives Iron Bear the bonus too

HOTFIX NOTES
Hotfixes are separate from the update and applied at the main menu when Borderlands 3 is connected to the internet. Unlike updates, hotfixes are not permanent—they are temporarily stored in memory during the game session and lost upon exiting Borderlands 3. To ensure that you receive hotfixes, make sure that your system is connected to the internet when Borderlands 3 boots up and hang out on the Menu screen until you see the background change (right now, you're looking for pumpkins)!

Addressed a reported concern that the Legendary Maliwan "Recursion" ricochets sometimes failed to target ghosts
Adjusted Rampager's item pool to allow for specific Legendaries to drop
Addressed a reported concern that "Boom Sickle" sometimes showed incorrect part text.
We still have a lot of things that we're working on, including additional performance and stability updates, Mayhem updates and 2.0, skippable cinematics, and more. As always, we appreciate the feedback and support we've seen from the community. If you experience any issues with Borderlands 3 or today's patch, please submit a ticket to support.2k.com.

Bank spaces increasing to 300. Nice but I wouldn't mind the main player inventory doubling as well.

Not able to mark items as junk on PS4 is an issue I ran into.

UI performance issues being fixed would be nice also. No reason when I bring up the menu it should take 3-4 seconds to even display.

I don’t know if they ever fixed the PS4 version (terrible UI performance) but I recently went though BL3 on PS5 and had no issues. Even got the Platinum trophy for it. I did give up on the DLC but I might go back to it someday.

I also want to try the Tiny Tina Wonderlands game but no real rush on that.
