Re: Dungeons
Pretty sure they both got pretty crappy reviews overall.
I was going to pick up Hunted: The Demon's Forge, but it's not getting received too well either, I might just skip it.

I watched some videos of DnD Daggerdale. Seems like it would have been ok 10 years ago but these days people want more. There appears to be a great lack of motivation to advance your character through the story.

Dungeon Hunter looks more interesting. Not quite interesting enough for me to download it for free but I almost did! Is there no demo for it? That's always a bad sign if so.

Re: Dungeons
I have some friends who worked on Daggerdale but unfortunately the game is a total pile of shit.
Dungeon Hunter was pretty mediocre on the iphone. Since it's pretty much a straight port, I can't imagine that it would be any better on the PS3.
Hunted: Demons Forge was one of those EB Games 'gaming guarantee' titles so I picked it up.
It's not a bad co-op hack and slash dungeon crawler... just kinda average.
I will be returning it and getting Motorstorm.

Oops, I was referring to Hunted: Demons Forge, not Dungeon Hunter above.Winnow wrote:

How was the demo for Dungeon Siege 3? That's out on Live. Maybe try that.

Re: Dungeons
Why won't they release Champions: Return to Arms 2 to PS3?
Guess we have to wait for Diablo 3 for a good Hack n Slash!

Re: Dungeons
After playing Hunted: Demons Forge for a few more hours, I take back my 'kinda average' assessment.
It's a piece of crap.
Do not waste your money on this steaming pile.

Re: Dungeons
You will be waiting forever on Diablo 3. That is going to be the new Duke Nukem.
I played through Daggerdale....it is not too awful bad on Xbox. For $15 it is not horrible. It has 4 player co-op which is a serious rarity right now on consoles for this type of game. Dungeon Seige 3 is going to be craptastic if you want co-op as you can only play as a henchman for whoever is hosting the game. It looks like the way things are going that the only games with co-op for 3 or more are going to be PC only.

tried out Dungeon Siege 3 demo. Seems ok. Don't like the camera angles much.

Re: Dungeons
I played around with the full version of Dungeon Siege III
It's clunky
I couldn't walk 10 feet without running into loot. Loot drops all over the place. You have your while, green, blue and yellow colored loot similar to Borderlands but for some reason, it's just not that interesting when you get something new.
I remember the original Dungeon Siege being better than this.
The story is worthless along with the voice acting. You end up clicking through a bunch of text.
Character development is there but it seems kind of narrow. UI is pretty crappy.
Bargain bin entertainment. Under 20.00
Hate the camera angles in this game. Constantly feels like you can't see and makes you want to press the camera up.

It'll be out fourth quarter of 2011. (or about the first half of 2012)Kilmoll the Sexy wrote:You will be waiting forever on Diablo 3. That is going to be the new Duke Nukem.
According to the leaked project slate anyway, which has been pretty accurate so far.

Anyway, Torchlight 2 is set to be out soon and it looks like it will be an excellent game with multi-player of up to 8 people and customizable. That series has a very Diabloish feel....of course having Diablo designers developing it doesn't hurt.
