Championship! Fantasy Football Thread

Post by Winnow »

There's no VV FF league this year but we may as well talk about it a bit!

I had my draft a few weeks back.

I had the 7 slot is a 12 team league:

1 Rice, Ray RB BAL
2 Gore, Frank RB SF
3 Austin, Miles WR DAL
4 Williams, Mike WR TB
5 Wells, Beanie RB ARI
6 Freeman, Josh QB TB
7 Jones, Julio WR ATL
8 Thomas, Mike WR JAC
9 Bradford, Sam QB STL
10 Olsen, Greg TE CAR
11 Tolbert, Mike RB SD
12 Little, Greg WR CLE
13 Chargers DST
14 Bironas, Rob K TEN
15 Ringer, Javon RB TEN

I freaking love Mike Williams and Josh Freeman this year and like where I got them in the draft. I may have been able to let Freeman slide to round 7 but I didn't want to miss out on him.

I know Tampa Bay isn't on most people's radars but before you comment, check out this highlight reel from 2010:

http://youtu.be/fNFmF9DcZ1k?hd=1

If nothing else, that video will get you fired up for the NFL season!

Starting Line up looks like this:

QB Freeman (back up Sam Bradford)

RB Rice
RB Gore (back up Beanie Wells and Michael Turner)

WR Miles Austin
WR Mike Williams
WR Julio Jones (back ups Mike Thomas, JAC, Greg Little Clev)

TE Greg Olson
K Rob Bironas
D Chargers

I feel great about my starters and back ups. For the love of God Beanie, perform this year. It pays to wait on a QB if you do your research. Filling out the RBs and WRs in the tops rounds is the way to go. I did my research on the WRs. Only miss I had was that someone took Mike Wallace the pick before, so I had to take Miles Austin in the 3rd. Greg Little is a flyer. I'll be shuffling Miles Austin, Julio Jones and Mike Thomas based on match ups. Mike Williams stays in all the time.

This isn't a glamorous team. It's a winning team! I was very happy getting Rice with the 7th pick.

If you want great value, grab up Tampa Bay players in your draft. Freeman, Mike Williams, LeGarrette Blount and Kellen Winslow. The Bucs are solid offensively this year but the players fall rounds due to the team they're on.

My fantasy football team looks like this:

Code: Select all

             Hart
Sagna - Cahill - Agger - Baines
Nasri - Wilshere - A. Young
            Agüero
        Džeko - Suarez
IT'S HARD TO PUT YOUR FINGER ON IT; SOMETHING IS WRONG
I'M LIKE THE UNCLE WHO HUGGED YOU A LITTLE TOO LONG

I think it's crazy to start anyone on that team that doesn't have an umlaut in their name!

I'm in an 8-team league. I had the 5th pick:

Also, the Bucs are the next dynasty if the Glazers don't fuck it up.
Make love, fuck war, peace will save us.
