Veeshan Vault NFC
Taking the next 9 people.

Hello Grizz,
This is to confirm that you've created the Custom League named Veeshan Vault NFC and the team called Sleazy Cheese in that league.
To allow other managers to join your league, send them the League ID# and Password. In your case, the ID# is 74765 and the Password is veeshan.
You have chosen for your league to take part in a live online draft on Sun Aug 29 3:00pm PDT. Until that time, you (and only you) can change the type of draft by using the Change Draft Type option found among your Commissioner Tools, which can be reached from your League Overview page.
If you choose to remain in a live draft, please arrive at the draft 10 minutes ahead of the scheduled time. The draft will start promptly and may conclude rapidly if only a few managers are logged in.
We also suggest that all league members custom rank their players in case a manager can't make it to the draft. Managers can do this at any time by simply going to the Fantasy Football home page and clicking on their team name.
Thanks for joining. Good luck.
--Fantasy Football Commissioner

Too often it seems it is the peaceful and innocent who are slaughtered. In this a lesson may be found that it may not be prudential to be either too peaceful or too innocent. One does not survive with wolves by becoming a sheep.

The "real" leagues I'm in hold their championship games on week 16 to avoid playing games when the best players are sitting on the bench. It's retarded to hold your championship game during the last week of the NFL season due to the way the NFL operates.

Everyone is under the same set of rules. The question is how you adapt to those rules. If you can plan for events that you know are coming you should fare well but if you can't plan past the regular season then you get what you get.

That said, if this were a cash league I'd be more inclinded to agree but only slightly. If there is a setting that anyone feels does not add to the competitive nature of the game or is deemed too difficult to overcome or comprehend, I will change it. It should be a unanimous decision (excluding my vote). This needs to be done before the season begins however.

Some view the obstacles as impossible while others consider them challanges.

You can easily plan for the playoffs...week 14-16, but you really can't plan for the randomness of your players sitting on the bench week 17..which would never happen in a real Super Bowl. It's well known that week 17's in the NFL are mostly garbage time. I still evaluate strength of schedule...vs running game..vs passing, etc during week 14-16 and do plan my draft around that somewhat...favoring players that are going up against pancake defenses during those weeks...that's different than Week 17 which is just plain lame and unpredictable.

In the Aluminum Curtain's heyday, I drafted to have the best players on marginal teams that would be fighting for playoff spots in the last week of the year. I will never take one of the Colts players....or one on a team that has a history of laying down.

Which is fine. I'd rather have the championship in week 16 where there's still some skill involved even with planning ahead during the draft for strength of schedule during the final weeks...that's still different than week 17 which is almost always a lame week for football...not worthy of determining a championship based off coaches sitting players.

Don't care in this league but I wouldn't go for a week 17 championship game in a money league for sure.

Consider this post an observation more than bitching.

I was worried at first but then I had to remind myself that it is only early July and that there is plenty of time left. Then again you just know that the season will sneak up on you faster than you thought.

Edit: Here's an odd thought. You guys want to make this a 32 team league? It'd have to be autodraft though just to be fair to everyone. We'd be playing 4th string scrubs.

We need either 1 more team to make it even or 3 more teams to make it a full league.

*EDIT* Draft is in 32 days. We need 1 or 3 more teams. Last year we had two leagues or 20 teams and now we only have 8.

If draft day approaches and we're still sitting at an odd number of teams, I'll drop to make it even. I'm already in 5 other leagues.

(Obviously if we have an even # then I'll stay in to kick your asses  )

26 days now. Don't leave Taison, because the league will suck with only 6 teams.

I think my win streak will come to an end after this weekend. I am very surprised that I am 7-0. I haven't had that great a start in years in any of my leagues. So that should all end this week I am thinking. I just wish I was doing this well in my cash leagues.

Just fyi, this is my last year in this league. Half you slackers don't even sub out injured players and those on bye. I mean I'm in 5 leagues so I don't really pay much attention to this but damn, I take 60 seconds a week to make sure I have a full team playing. =p

Yah not sure if I'll run it next year or not. Years past we had an over abundance of people wanting to play. This year we struggled to get 10 people. We shall see. I'm in 6 leagues myself this year and I am hoping to cut it down to my 2 cash leagues. I can only deal with so much as far as conflicting emotions go. Cheer or not Cheer.

Yeah, that's what it came down to for me as well, Ox. Too many rosters to keep track of, too many injury reports, too many free agent pools. I do my two local pay leagues, in one of which I am assistant commish, and that's about all the fantasy football I can enjoy in one season.

Agreed. I mostly focus on my paid league. It's highly active with people I've known for 20+ years. There's also a "severe" penalty for finishing last in the league which keeps people playing no matter what to avoid the shame the following year at the draft. It's the beer wench award. The last place team member dresses up as a beer wench and serves beer to the other 11 members of the league during the next year's draft weekend festivities. It definitely helps keep all league owners involved!

Bubba did a nice job trying to keep this league alive but it tends to take a back seat to more focused Fantasy leagues the participants are involved in.

I keep getting my ass handed to me, but I'm still trying! Thanks for the fun, gents.

Too often it seems it is the peaceful and innocent who are slaughtered. In this a lesson may be found that it may not be prudential to be either too peaceful or too innocent. One does not survive with wolves by becoming a sheep.

I can't believe Matt Schaub was my third pick. I nearly busted a nut when I noticed I could finally cut his ass.

I'm not in this league, but Randy Moss was my second. Ryan Clark was my first. I feel your pain.

Moss was my third, and Chris Johnson is proving to be the worst #1 pick imaginable.. Bradshaw is getting more points than him..

If we're talking QBs, what the hell happened to Peyton Manning? First 9 games of the season he throws 4 Ints, last 3 game it's 11 Ints.
