Is there more than one server?

I dreamt that I was accepted into the beta last night and downloaded the beta. This morning after creating a character only saw one available server.

I thought there were two servers, though that is through word of mouth. I have not yet loaded up but I intend to when I get home from work.

I'm guessing that a batch of invites went out in the last day or two. I got mine a few weeks ago, but my wife (Nneena) got hers yesterday or today.

Other beta servers are sometimes mentioned in the server status section of the patcher window, but I've yet to see a way to choose a server. I just defaulted to beta1, and I assume that this is true for most folks.

No luck on beta invite here yet...too bad I didn't pick up LoE when it came out just for the added potential for an invite.

Ummmmm, somehow I doubt that statement. Have you actually played WoW? I have not seen EQ2, but I cannot imagine it being better. Then again, I havent stopped playing since beta invite and Im hooked AS HELL.

Playing right now from work (In my head).

You haven't seen EQ2 yet (picts don't count). My comment was on initial first impressions and EQ2 > WoW. Can't say much more than that for now.

I switched to a Ratonga Mage. Casters are great in this game. I'll need to do the betrayal quest after level 10 to get out of Freeport though and over to Qeynos.

I started a guild on Beta 1: <Veeshan Vault>

Our arch rival so far is a guild called <Fires of eBay>

Our force is small but growing! So far we have one person in the guild. I must speak of myself in the third person in this case until someone else joins!

Send tell to Skeevo if you want a tag for the hell of it. I'll tag anyone as long as I can tag from another zone. Otherwise you need to be an evil race as it will be awhile before I quest my way over to the good side in a few levels.

Do you know anyone who has done the betrayal quest? I think I may have (almost) completed it, if it's the Fippy quest, as he is all hated and stuff - but gave me a quest, so I did it...all of it, just need to report back to him. Hope I don't *POOF* to Freeport.

BTW, everyone in Beta needs to do /pizza from a safe spot. ROFL

1337 strats guild <Veeshan Vault> has doubled in size and has successfully raided the sewers of Freeport. After wiping at zone-in (Winnow's fault), <Veeshan Vault> re-grouped and re-buffed, then raced to a_plague_rat_0723 steamrolling <Fires of eBay> for the kill.

Drops were: A rat ear.

All drops were awarded to Skeevo, causing the rest of the guild to complain about favoritism. From now on, <Veeshan Vault> will be using the DKP system. For his rat ear, Skeevo is now -500 DKP.

<Veeshan Vault> is 100 percent mighty mice so far. If you are a citizen of Freeport, send Skeevo or Skeevy a /tell and join the troops.

We need a tank! We have an Undecided Priest class and Mage-->Sorcerer so far.

We had a complete guildwipe on our first sewer run but ended up completing the quest!

As you create your first character, pay particular attention to the Evil -> Tank Races!

Yeah tbh I got bored with it pretty fast. I thought initially it was going to be better than WoW, but it's not. There are some things I like better than WoW, but they are very minor. WoW runs a HELL of a lot better, has more interesting/unique scenery, involves less running around (too much open space in EQ2), and has a more intuitive UI. The voice overs are neat at first, but you never listen to the whole thing, so they end up becoming annoying. It has nice graphics, but polished my ass! Maybe when you are right next to someone who is not moving.

-EQ2 runs fine if you have a decent system (ATi9700 Pro, 2.4GHz processor, 1GB RAM) Nothing dramatic but you need this and then it runs fine.

-Not sure what you mean about unique scenery. There's plenty of scenery in EQ2 and it looks much better then the distorted toontownish scenes in WoW.

-WoW UI didn't seem any different than the EQ2 UI which was great.

-The Voiceovers are great. Who cares if you don't listen to the whole thing. You have a choice to listen or click through the dialog faster if you're in a rush.

-Graphics are polished. If you have an older graphics card you can slide the detail range in closer to allow faster performance.

I don't nock a game for having state of the art graphics. People continuously upgrade their machines and I want a game that will take advantage of the best you can buy that can be scaled down for people with slower performing machines. This game is stunning using a 6800GT or X800 and perfectly playable with a two+ year old graphics card like the ATI9700Pro.
