Based on what you currently know, are you going over?

I know I'm good at what I do, but I know I'm not the best.
But I guess that on the other hand, I could be like the rest.

See no reason to drop a 200+ day playtime main, and a 70+ days playtime boxed alt, to start from scratch in a new adventure based game at all, be it WoW, EQ2, Lord of the Rings, or anything in that theme.
Besides, getting trapped in yet another timesink game are not something i plan on. When i stop EQ someday, casual play in CoH should do it for me

The biggest lure for me is exactly why you say you don't want to play. A fresh start on servers where mudflation is not rampant. A game where they have left enormous amounts of room for growth...which they never planned on with EQ.
I miss EQ a lot. With the way that game is set up, you can't just go back after a long time off and pick back up at the top end of the game...and no way could I handle pickup groups with the retards of the world.

Anyone know if this tidbit from betawatcher.com is true?

It seems a decision has been made on Servers & choice in EQ2; this is a warning to anyone who wants to pre-order the game: Choose carefully, as they are restricting US clients to US servers & Euro/UK clients to Euro/UK servers.
This is unlike EQLive & SWG, an odd choice.

No EQ2 for me. Nothing I've seen or read about it is particularly interesting, and certainly not compelling enough to walk away from the time and energy that I've poured into EQ. I'm still having fun with EQ, and until that's not the case anymore, I won't be jumping to another game.

The initial server contracts for EQ2 were to have separate servers for separate regions of the world. (The North America qualified as one "region" under this plan.)Winnow wrote:WoW is too cartoony for me.
I think it's kind of lame that Euros won't be able to bother us here in the states anymore. Hello, the internet is all about a world community!
Swedes crack me up. I think it's a bad move to isolate players.
I'll miss all the "ë"s and "ö"s with the funny dots.
But after a huge outpouring of complaints by EQ2 forum participants, the policy changed...
Now players from all over the globe can choose which region's servers to use.

After a couple days in the beta, I never thought I'd say this but I'm pretty sure its gonna be EQII over WoW for me. It's not perfect but I really like where the game is headed. Much more dynamic than WoW, which bored me after a month in beta.

If EQ ever stops being fun and I want another addiction I'll probably check out Vanguard. I think a company smaller than Sony will be a plus and WoW doesn't seem like anything I want to play.
It's 99% up to what my friends play though. I play for the people, not the game.

It was hilarious. SOE posted a thing about region restrictions on servers. Within 12 hours (overnight), there was like, a 90 page thread of outrage. Less than 48 hours after the initial announcement, a new one was up saying that there would be a patch or something to allow you to pick any server if you really wanted to.

Why hasn't any christian created a MORPG Biblical Times game? You could choose to wander the earth as a priest, try your hand at building your fortunes at the vatican in a cardinal power struggle, go on crusades and slaugher arabs, or head to the new world, steal aztec and inca gold, convert the natives and eagerly wait the first inquisition expansion!Adex_Xeda wrote:I wonder which next gen game will best capture the experience of being a warrior?
Better yet, where can I find a handful of my old friends to play with?
That more than anything would sway me.
