2015 Finished Games List!

Post by Animalor »

Here is where we keep track of which games we've finished for the year. I think keeping our small group of remaining posters playing and discussing on the same thread would be better than splitting us up into console specific threads.

--What counts as finished?

Well, I say it's when you see credits roll (if possible). Some games are perpetual, such as sports games, things like Battlefield 1943, and many others. For these, it's whenever you feel you've accomplished the goals you set out for yourself in the game. For something like L4D, it may be as simple as playing through all the maps, or as complicated as getting every acheivement in the game. We're using the honesty system here, so when you've finished a game, go ahead and list it!

What counts as complete?

This is a significant difference over simply finishing a game. Completing means you have snagged 1000/1000 acheivements or platinum trophied the game. You have done everything there is to do in that game. This counts for games as large as Fallout 3 and as small as an XBL or PSN game. If games have no "proof" or scoring method, it's all you're decision.

--What counts as a game?

It's a harder question than you maight think. For instance, when tallying up the games I finished last year, I had to really think about some particular situations. One such issue was "Do I count each piece of DLC for Fallout 3 seperately"? My answer was yes. However, the DLC for Gears 2 and L4D were only one map, so I chose not to count them. I totally counted Peggle on my iPhone, since I beat that like a rented mule. In the end, it's up to you. Some situations will just depend on your personal opinion on what you consider as a game, or just an addition to the game itself. More examples are the latest Borderlands DLC (not games IMO) and the GTA4 expansions Lost and the Damned and Ballad of Gay Tony (both games!).

--Do multiple playthroughs count?

I say yes! I played the single player of Halo 3, Gears 1, and World at War only to play all the way through them again at a later time in co-op mode with a friend. I plan on doing a co-op run through RE5 sometime this year. I count each one of those complete playthroughs as finishing another game. I think you should give yourself credit for the time/effort it takes to play through your favorite games multiple times. This also helps ensures that you continue to play games for enjoyment.

--What systems count?

All of them. iPhone, PC/Steam, PS3, Wii, DS, PSP, fucking anything and everything!

The format will be as such:

Date - Game - System - COMPLETE

Only use the red completed msg when you have completed a game. The rest are just assumed that you finished a game.

It's a nice idea but the format should be changed a bit, keep list of those that want a list of completed games at the top but make a new post to the thread for each game completed with some brief comments. I think those would be the most interesting. Things like, "got better as it went", "great game, bad story"', "fun but repetitive", Not all games get their own threads on this forum and not everyone reads reviews on each game that comes out. A little comment about the game you just finished might be helpful to others.

I pretty much always make a post in this thread about the game I just beat. It bumps the thread and is a good place to talk about an what is likely an older release.

Knowing who posted it, the full title of the game is probably actually "How to Survive:Without Murdering Animals For Dinner - A PETA Production."

There is a vegetarian option for food in the game. If you like zombie games, you'll probably enjoy How to Survive.

I am an unabashed lover of that Duck Tales game. I beat it with my daughters last year. They really gave that game a fantastic remaster by getting the original voice actors back in the studio.

Yeah, I was a fan of the original, had to give the remaster a try. I thought they did a good job as well. Halo 4 down tonight, that about finishes the master chief collection for me.

Far Cry 4 down. That was a great game. Pagan is a great villain. Right at the very end I unlocked almost all the weapons. They're all the same thing with slight variation though. You could probably beat the entire game with the bow. Towards the end, I wasn't even trying to be subtle anymore. I kicked the doors in on the last 5-6 outposts and waded thigh high in bodies. Set off all of your alarms for reinforcements! I insist!

It's bittersweet finishing such a great game, but I'm happy to move on as well.

I'm on vacation so I was after coming back from our trip I have a few extra days to relax at home. I finished a game! Wolfenstein TNO, to be specific.

It's a great game. It took me a bit to get into it, but once I settles in I fell in love with it. Top notch productin, with special kudos to the music. Hearing House of the Rising Sun as well as some Beatles tunes done in a fucked up Nazi slant was awesome.

The story was typical video game fare, but the voice acting and animations were pretty great. It really pit the game on another level.

I will absolutely be buying the Old Blood expansion. I need a break for now though.

I highly recommend this game.

I am only to the first underground vault structure in the first game. I had to shoot a horde of monsters, then the vault opened up. I know I'm not far at all, but it has left a good impression on me. I need to get back to that game...

Still playing Destiny when I can, but I think I've been playing more FIFA 15 on the PS4 lately. Haven't really played any PC games in the last month to speak of.

Kicked up the Fast and Furious Forza Horizon 2 games again last night and ran through the rest of the entire thing in one sitting. ~680 achievement points to round out the thousand in about 2-3 hours. 1000/1000

Pretty much done with Destiny at this point. Played a lot of Transformers Devastation in October. Then played a lot of Assassin's Creed between Rogue and Syndicate. (both of which were great imo).

I'm almost done with Valiant Hearts. Need to go back to that one.
