I'm with Miir and Funk. That was terrible. Even ignoring the fact that it's CGI, it didn't even make me remotely interested in the game. And I like Duke Nukem.
I wonder if they have done anything with regards to the game other than this shitty trailer (i had no sound, maybe that makes the graphics seem better). I kind of doubt it though.
Oh, did the Living Dead people ever sue duke nukem for using their catch phrases (i think that's where they came from, but i played duke nukem 3d in 6th grade, so I kind of forget)
I doubt anyone really expects a state of the art game out of 3D Realms.
If it's fun, I'll play it. It's not going to be a game you buy for "next gen" graphics. The game play, weapons, and funny comments were what made Duke Nuk'em great. The alien environments made me physically sick (motion sick) in the original. I stuck to the Terrestrial/City zones during multiplayer matches.

They didn't spend ten years on the same engine. They kept changing game engines. They did call it a "teaser" which usually means not too much game footage.

I'm as big a fan as anyone of the original Duke Nuk'em.
The humor in this game feels forced. While it's expected that the graphics are bad, so is the game play. I lasted less than 30 minutes playing this game before I set it aside. I'll check it out some other time but it's definitely not a priority.
Agreed. Played the demo, it was a sub-par shooter at best. Bargain bin! I expect it'll drop in price pretty fast too, I imagine they'll be flooding the market with it, and there'll be a lot of people trading it in.
From what I hear, it is a cobbled-together wreck of repetitiveness. My best guess is that there was so little cohesiveness between the Dev teams, coupled with the realization that they needed to do a full overhaul so close to the deadline, made for the need to super-rev the marketing engine since that was their only chance to make anything off of it.
You just can't fix something like that without starting from scratch.
This game had it's moments, but they were few and far between. The Duke humor has not aged well, and they really overused gimmick gameplay.
