Long story short, the abandonned Molson Brewery 1 hour north of Toronto had 30 million dollars worth of marijuana growing inside (+30,000 pot plants).
I think 11 people were arrested.

Re: Pot bust
At least they did something productive with the Molson brewery, that beer is one of the worst beers I have ever had to choke down. I'd drink a case of Shafers Light before having to endure another Molson...Lynks wrote:http://www.canoe.ca/NationalTicker/CANO ... -Bust.html

That story makes me a sad panda.
"There is at least as much need to curb the cruel greed and arrogance of part of the world of capital, to curb the cruel greed and violence of part of the world of labor, as to check a cruel and unhealthy militarism in international relationships." -Theodore Roosevelt
Even if their 'real' beer was 1000 times better than the shit I consumed, Coors Light would still be a better choice. Doesn't inspire confidence in America's northern neighbor if Molson is representative of what Canadians enjoy in beer, hell how can America trust anyone that would produce that swill?miir wrote:Molson heading for the American market is brewed differently than their 'real' beer. I had a molson ice in the states and it tasted like shitty american beer.

I won't speak for most Americans, hell many of them voted for geedub, that tells me that they can't be trusted to make any important decisions.kyoukan wrote:most americans don't like canadian beer because it actually has alcohol in it, so it tastes funny to them.
I personally don't like Canadian beers like Molson, Grizzly, and Moosehead because it tastes like I imagine shit would taste. I enjoy Bass, Sapporo, St. Pauli Girl, Sam Adams, and bubble-gum beers like Corona which all very in alcohol content.

Honestly, so fucking what if there was a huge pot bust? Call me jaded, but I've heard of so many over the years that I don't even bat an eyelash when another is reported. More grow operations pop up. The only thing it brings to mind is wasting taxpayer's money. It isn't a hardcore drug, and the authorities are fighting a losing battle - so why fucking bother?

So true, growing is more common than people think.
Honestly, I grew a bit with some friends, nothing much, just for our personal use, and I don't smoke all that frequently(few times a month).
I'd swear 20% of the people in my town grow, here are some examples:
My brother-in-law grows(an architect), my cousin grows(a doctor), my nextdoor neghbor grows(computer-programmer for Microsoft). Two of my friend's parents grow(psychiatrist and retired navy surgeon). Hell, it's a well known fact that the local fire chief smokes it often(and rumored that it grows). Atleast a quarter of my highschool teachers smoked, I even smoked with my spanish teacher when our class traveled guatamala, aswell as my humanities teacher one weekend.
Okay so maybe I'm in a not-so-average town, everyone is very liberal and a lot of them are middle to upper-class(most didn't grow up rich btw), but still, these are all well-established, incredibly kind and generous people and a fair ammount have smoked since highschool. Personally, I am not seeing the horrible problems that come from personal marijuana use.

I don't think so. I'd rather drink warm Bud Light from a can than have to choke down another Molson. I'm not saying that the American mass-produced beer is good or even for the most part even tolerable, I am saying that Canadian brew is worse than American swill.Hammerstalker PE wrote:Even the worst Canadian beer is 100 times better than anything the americans brew.
