Semi-serious question

Post by Kilmoll the Sexy »

Ok...there have already been some joke type e-mails flying around that actually made me think....especially since I have heard the same type of talk from some small business owners that I know personally.

If/when Obama does raise taxes that are going to hit those small businesses to where they have to make personnel cutbacks....and saying that all else being equal....is it fair and just for them to eliminate the people that backed Obama first?

I sure wish my opinion mattered in Kilmoll's quest for knowledge. But darn. I'm ignored as I'm sure he will point out soon!

Joke emails that made him think. Who knew it took jokes to stimulate his brain... Perhaps if there was a comedian at the polling place he might have voted for Obama!

Big surprise. All the VV socialist/marxist/commie/terrorist faggots can't answer a direct question.

The answer is obviously YES. If anything happens during Obama's tenure in the White House that Republicans do not like, they have every right to fire or punish anyone who voted for Obama. Actually, if anything happens in the next 60ish days they can also retaliate in any number of ways, ranging from insults to violence against Obama supporters. It's their god given right to do so and I'm also pretty sure it's in the Constitution somewhere between habeas corpus and unauthorized domestic spying.

With the extra several dollars small-business owners will be taxed, they'll be forced to layoff employees so that they can still afford to buy more guns. For example, if you have 15 employees and only 3-5 guns at home, you're encouraged to get rid of up to 4 employees (but only if they supported Obama) so that you can up your number of guns to 10+ and buy ammo, gun cleaning kits, etc. Obama is trying to make all guns illegal for law-abiding citizens and route them to criminals at the same time that he makes a national secret police force, so it's important that all people have a vast stockpile of weapons at home so we can defend ourselves from the government and our neighbors.

It's all implied right there in his post, I can't believe you guys can't see it.

You want a substantive answer to a patently ridiculous question? Moreover, you want said answer from the very people for whom you've made your utter contempt quite clear, and have made a grand, public display of the fact that you've added them to your ignore list on the board? Are you serious?

Just fuck off. Seriously.

It's not a substantial question.

We don't know how the tax code will change, so there's no real way to predict its impact on small businesses.

Obama's campaign plan was to raise taxes on those (including businesses) banking more than $250k per year. This is a substantial minority of small businesses, those making less would presumably receive a tax cut. Reality is likely to be more complicated than this ultra-simplistic picture, so we'll have to wait to see what happens.

Assuming that small businesses do have to cut jobs: Well, if they want to be successful in the ultra free market economy that most conservatives are still advocating, they'd be wise to cut their least useful and lowest performing employees, instead of carrying out a political vendetta.

If all your "small business owners who I know personally" are not forced to cut jobs due to Obama's tax policy, will they vote for his re-election in 2012? If he doesn't try to take your guns, will you vote for his re-election in 2012?

Dude hasn't even taken office yet.

Also, I would take "Joe the Plumber's" comments with a healthy HOOKERWHORESLUT of salt. The guy was an obvious plant by the McCain campaign to stir up the shit. Well, we all know how that tactic and the whole socialist angle worked out.

Palin is still trying though! :D

My initial question was nothing more than hypothetical and resulted in a bunch of sniping asshattery from the Liberal People's Front of Veeshan. Thank you for at least responding with something other than trite remarks.

Seeing as how political affiliation would not be a protected status and most states being at will employment, is there anything that honestly could be done to employers that do this? Yes it would be stupid to eliminate more productive people, but all other things being equal....if they were broadcasting the fact that they did something that actually impacted the business financially, would that be reason enough to be a tiebreaker?

As for would I vote for him if he does not take gun rights....well that remains to be seen on a variety of levels. I have clearly stated here on numerous occasions that I do indeed support at least one Democrat if he were to run for the White House. If Barry shows he is a TRUE moderate that will not be a 2nd Amendment threat...then sure. His voting and political history pretty well show that he is definitely on the anti-2nd amendment side though.

As soon as word got out that people were being let go for their political affiliations, I think these business owners would have bigger fish to fry than anything Obama and Co. could throw their way.

Btw, this is a really fucking retarded question you posed. Totally fucking stupid.

Obama actually said he would tax individuals who make $250,000+ a year, and if I remember correctly, companies that make $250,000+ in PROFIT per year. There are ways around this, like reinvesting the money instead of taking the profits out. *shrug* I would think most smart small business owners would be reinvesting in their own businesses instead of taking out fat checks for themselves. Make your small business into a big business first, then take the profits, lol.

Serious answer to your semi-serious question:

No.

As much as you, Joe the Plumber or any other Republican may want to, you cannot fire somebody over their political affiliation. That reason has been cited in wrongful termination lawsuits, from bottom up. That's what the whole scandal about Alberto Gonzales and all those attorneys he fired. Even in the White House you cannot do that.

Now that that is settled, read Obama's proposed tax policy PLEASE! The information is so easily accessible. Please seek it out before assuming that your guns and money will be pillaged by communists. Don't be stupid.

I have seen it. If a business makes $600k a year, you do realize his plan would increase their tax by about $150k right? That is a pretty significant chunk of change to a business that is not a superpower.

No that's not a 25% increase, it's 25% more of their income, which would be somewhere around 75-85% increase in tax rate. $600k income already gets taxed appx. $200k, kilmoll is saying that tax would increase to $350k, a tax rate of nearly 60%. I often wonder how in the world McCain was able to garner 58 million votes, then I see the overwhelming ignorance of threads like this, which prove that facts don't matter as much as propaganda, especially to conservatives.

I copied that number directly from a web site showing a side by side comparison. I cannot find it now and I am pretty sure it was a liberally leaning site as it was trying to show how McCain's plan was worse.

It sounds like you might be referring to this chart, which is more about married filing jointly than it is small business profit... I'm not sure that's what you were looking at though.

I just sold my FNP-40. Not sure what it is but I just can't get into the plastic guns. Going up this weekend to buy either a springfield or kimber 1911 in the lightweight models.

I quoted a wrong number....it was 116k. And yes the tax rate for those people and businesses would be somewhere in the 55% range.

Pretty much the same chart Sylvus posted.

Get those guns while you can, because in around 60 days time, no one in America will ever be able to buy guns again. Ever. Also, keep the receipt and return it the day before the anauguration, because the very next day the new Homeland Security Force is going door to door to collect every single gun in America.

I think Obama's going to take at least a week or 2 before herding all whites into the death camps. He's going to change the American Flag and National Anthem first to humiliate us before he kills us.

Oddly this was not a gun topic. If you like I can start posting the gun topic of the day here.

But it is an absurd topic. Equally absurd as any of the "Obama is coming to take my guns" fears. I took the opportunity to link them since it seems to be the same poeple with all of the irrational fear.

You did notice that the 116k cited is the average increase for ALL incomes over 600k, didn't you? That number is heavily skewed by incomes even greater than 600k. The actual increase for 600k of taxable income, the very bottom of this category, would be a small fraction of that amount. That's a far cry from an increase of 150k or even 116k on 600k of hypothetical income that you're ranting about. Only 1.5% of all US households make more than 250k, let alone 600k, so I really don't care too much about Mr. Hypothetical 600k here having to pay an extra 30k or so.
