Music Services

Post by Winnow »

iCloud is coming Monday, June 6th.

I know some people on VV like music a lot more than me.

Pandora is something everyone knows about.

Grooveshark

When I want to listen to a specific song for free, I go here:

http://grooveshark.com/

try out out. pretty straight forward.

Grooveshark is free and you can put together any playlist you want or play any song you want whenever you want.

Has iPhone App (jailbreak only I think) but is 9.99/month to play anything you want.

Grooveshark is the best non mobile service. Can skip anything you want, add anything you want to play list, replay, jump to parts in song, add entire album, add other's playlists or your own playlists, save favorites, etc.

Go right to popular is you want:

http://grooveshark.com/#/popular

then select "play all" to jump right in.

You can link directly to songs if you want:

Slacker Radio

Another service that's better than Pandora is Slacker Radio:

It's also more organized than Grooveshark but you can't play any song you want via the web without subbing which also give s you iPhone/iPad 3G access.

Same idea as Pandora. Music quality is excellent. largest music selection.

Has excellent iPhone/iPad app:

Slacker is free in Pandora type mode but, like Grooveshark, you can pay 9.99/month and play any song you want, any album you want, etc.

I'm not big on music but for those that are music nerds, these apps give you pretty much all music via the cloud.

iCloud is coming Monday but we'll have to see how much it costs etc.
