Add a cool movie score

Post by Ogbar »

Add something cool from the movies. Here's a few:

"Collateral" - music from the club scene
"Last of the Mohicans"
"Cinema Paridiso" - "Love Theme"
"Bladerunner" - I always liked the stuff Vangelis did in the early '80s, including the work he did on "Chariots of Fire" and "The Bounty"
Ogbar - a member of the Tiger's Roar retirement community

Hackers! (great soundtrack but I think you are looking for music made for the movie)

The intro to Hackers rocks though: Orbital - Halycon (about 90 seconds into the clip, has a long intro before the main song kicks in. If you go 7 minutes into the clip, you'll get a great scene with Voodoo People in the backgrounds as well...unfortunately yet another great song starts right before the end of the 9 minute video but you dont get to hear much)

Swordfish - Paul Oakenford Also the ending credits music"Get Out of My Life" but Paul Oakenford is good as well

Nice short scene here: He exists in a world beyond your world.

The Interview Scene is great:

Possibly the greatest movie score ever made:

Conan - The Barbarian

Specifically Riddle of Steel / Riders of Doom . Let that clip get about 2 minutes in and enjoy the ride! The Orgy Scene also ranks way the hell up there in all time great music scores. (move the the 2:30 minute mark for the orgy scene music. It's slowly builds up in intensity similar to Bolero by Ravel which you may recall from the movie "10") The battle that takes place to that music is great! (just go to the 5 min mark if you want to skip to fight scene...6:30 if you want to skip to the first attack! I like how in one scene, Conan actually checks to see if someone is dead after he slashes him with his sword...go to 8 minute mark if you just want to see Conan take on the three doom riders)

One Soundscore/track that drives me nuts is from Dr Zhivago, "Lara's Theme" plays for like 3 hours in that movie. It's a good song but it was burned into my head too many times. I won't even link it!

Donnie Darko ending, Mad Wold by Gary Jules. It was a veryy powerful momment in the film.

Another Donnie Darko, with Tears for Fears playing during the school intro. This whole scene was fantastic IMO.

Down with the Sickness by Richard Cheese in Dawn of the Dead. This is perhaps my favorite montage of all time. It's brilliant.

Where is my Mind, Pixies - This plays at the end of Fight Club as the buildings all blow up and fall. I have associated a very weird feeling with this song because of that movie and where I was in my life when I heard it. The first link is from the flick, the second is the whole song.

EDIT: Well, those aren't scores, so fuck me. I'm not deleting them!
The score for Donnie Darko was unique and different. It fit the movie very well.
