Movies I've seen recently

Post by Aslanna »

- The Descendants - omg stop making me cry!

- Captain America - Boring.

- The Expendables - Eh. No Steven Segal no care!

- Fast Five - A bit better than I expected. But not by much. And I wasn't expecting much.

- Source Code - That train sure blows up a lot. Still not sure what happened at the end.

- Moneyball - The only way to make baseball interesting is with a movie. With Brad Pitt.

- Super 8 - Holy shit this movie needs more lens flare!

Battleship - I could not suspend my reality checks enough to enjoy it. They had a 70 year old Battleship turned into museum re-geared with ammo within a couple hours? Yeah right.

Detached - Everyone should see it. Find a way.

Dark Knight Rises - Good flick but I prefer more of a mix of fun and drama in my Super Hero movies

Iron Sky - I had to replay the movie to even remember what this was about. Definitely forgettable. (Nazi's escaped after WW2 to hidden base on dark side of moon)

Snow White and the Huntsmen - Fell asleep halfway through. I'll never know the ending because there's no chance I'm going to watch the rest of it

Snow White and the Huntsman = Crap

Iron Sky = Crap

Battleship = Crap

They just don't make as good movies these days like they did in the 80s and 90s...

Or maybe i had a different kind of appreciation for movies back then.

Feels like they just mass-produce crap these days.

Only movie i've seen the past years that i liked was The Man From Earth, and that's not even a new movie!

Yeah, mass producing is right. It seems like sequels, prequels, and remakes are the trend in Hollywood nowadays, no new stuff.
I was checking comingsoon.net out a while ago, and out of the 10 newest stories, EIGHT of them were about sequels, remakes, or prequels:

Paranormal Activity 4
English remake of Le cercle rouge
Rush Hour 4
The Hangover 3
Dark Knight Rises
A prequel to The Shining
Total Recall remake
Carrie remake.

But I guess piracy is the reason they don't sell as many movies nowadays

Of the movies you listed, I thought Source Code, Moneyball and Super 8 were excellent.
Fast Five was a pretty fun movie too.

I'm really getting sick of all the fucking superhero movies.
Zero desire to see Avengers, Spider Man or Dark Knight.
If you want to talk about mass produced crap, look no further than the deluge of superhero 'blockbusters' in the past 3 yeas.

Battleship = Crap
Does this surprise anybody?
Every trailer started with 'From HASBRO, the company that brought you TRANSFORMERS'

Avengers Assemble wasn't crap. Who besides you didn't like it? For that matter, neither was Dark Knight Rises or Amazing Spider-Man. And who really cares if you have zero desire to see Super Hero movies? Post some movies you've seen or shut the fuck up. Focus on the topic jackass.

Unlike your childish troll, I actually mentioned 4 movies that I have seen and enjoyed.
I'm not saying superhero movies aren't passable entertainment... just that they are mass produced crap.

Some of these are so bad I saw a torrent link while I was looking for something else and couldn't be bothered to download them.

I even waited for Capt. America to turn up on Netflix; I think the only actor engaging enough to pull off something as dull as an origin story was Downey.

Avengers though was excellent.
