Midnyte mentioned this show to me on Thanksgiving so I picked up season 1 and had watched 6 episodes within 24 hours. I watched 2 more today... This show rocks. Michael C. Hall is great in this, and such a range after playing a flamboyant gay on six feet under.

You don't have to be a serial killer to take something from the code of Harry.

HOLY SHIT! That episode was sick.
Speculations for the next few episodes : Doakes going down for it (Didnt think theyd go that route) and season 3 picks up with La Guerta catching scent of Dex. Lila showing up at Dex's and telling the agents shes his g/f - Rita and Dex go in and find her naked/half naked etc., dex continues to frame doakes. anyone else have any others?

hah, that's how I felt after finally catching up on all of the shows I had recorded on my DVR. I only pushed through them all in anticipation of getting DirecTV, but I ended up being denied by the trees growing along the creek off my patio...foiled by nature! No DirecTV, and no more shows to watch on the DVR!

Should be interesting to see Dex dealing with possibly having to kill someone that hasn't really done anything wrong. Bit of a conflict with Harry's code...

^^ possibly, but i dont think its really necessary for him to kill doakes. All the authorities think Doakes is the killer. That coupled with his track record of attacking/harassing Dex makes it really doubtful that they would believe him if he said Dex was the butcher..

How the fuck is Dex going to explain the gun shot wound to his leg? How the fuck is he going to get back to his house in time?

What gun shot wound? I don't remember seeing him get shot.. as for getting back in time .. maybe thats why they put the 'ahead of schedule' line in?

They showed him clearly being shot in the leg before they fell in the water, then when he drags Doakes out of the water he looks down and his pants are covered in blood from the gunshot wound

Yeah, initially I thought maybe he can claim Doakes broke into his apartment and abducted him and took him out to the glades to frame him. Though the panes of glass in his window were obviously removed from the inside (which the FBI checked and cleared the apartment before he went in), and that's just a lazy way for it to play out anyway...expecting more :)

During the conflict between them, I found myself cheering on Dexter. Made me feel sort of weird to realize I was cheering for the serial killer. :p

Where is this season headed? I am completely sucked into it, but with two weeks left, it is still complete chaos. The meetings with Doakes and Dexter were as good as any in television, period. I really like the dynamic they have and would be pissed off if Doakes wasn't around next season. (if you saw the previews, what the fuck!?!)

I'm not sure that I'll agree. Season 2 is already way ahead of season 1 for me, thus far. Shitty thing is that now that you told me that the next two are on the internet, I'm not sure if I can stop myself from downloading them. Instant gratification and all.
