Not sure where to start. I know she's on the fence between abortion and going through with the pregnancy. Adoption isn't an option. At this point, becoming a father would destroy the well-being of both her and me, mostly because of the financial aspect but for other reasons too.

I have a meeting with Planned Parenthood on Thursday and no real gameplan. I don't know anything about what the law says, in case shit goes sour.

I hate to see it, but most people are not financially ready. You're young, do what you think is best, but when I had my first I was making about 37K a year. We figured it out and now I make a LOT more then that...and still can't afford my kids.

I was in a similar situation about 10 years ago, luckily for me she took the abortion. I have never for a second regretted it, I think it was the best solution for both of us, and as time has later shown, we weren't meant to be together.

I had my first kid with my wife about 3 weeks ago, and I couldn't be happier now, I love it, but I wouldn't have loved it 10 years ago.

Even weirder - by the time I'd found out about the miscarriage, I would have been all right with having a baby, even though it would have crippled my life. I like to be factual with my VV posts. Just like in the "Fuck Women" thread of yore, I hold VV's response to my problems in high esteem and try to not leave anything out. That said, what help are any of you if I ask, "Should I sacrifice everything and start a family?" I don't want your help answering that, as none of you know enough about my world (this much I thought obvious) to be qualified enough to give an opinion I would allow myself to take interest in. Just because I left it out doesn't mean it wasn't my paramount concern.

There were tears shed over the miscarriage, but she was really happy (relatively speaking) that she didn't need to pull the plug herself, even though that was her intention. She and I both learned a lot about how we handle tough situations, and I was surprised by how level-headed she remained through it all. We celebrated by getting her on birth control.
