I think youtube definitely has the better video service. It could just be that i'm unfamiliar with Google, but youtube seems to be a breeze when it comes to finding popular videos and stuff related to what you just watched.

So well said. Should the local news have to get everyone's permission before they film in a neighborhood? Should people posting to youtube... not?

I got a base-wide email a couple of months ago. Apparently the camera crews that take those pics tried getting on the base to snapshot the buildings and roads on the grounds. They were promptly told to gtfo by the MP's. The email said if we saw their vehicles (it listed a description with pics) that we were to report them immediately.

What a bunch of idiots. They shouldn't have even attempted to shoot on a military base.

BTW, security is definitely tighter these days. We stayed at the Navy Lodge in Willow Grove, PA for a few nights and the process to get on base was more involved. They may have been in training mode though.

Directly in the middle of that link is the Navy Lode where I stayed. You can pan over to the left and see the runway, etc. so at least the spies have satellite images to use! The helicopters look like spiders!

From what I gathered from the email, the camera crew was pretty pissed. They claimed that denying them access was preventing them from doing their work hence unable to complete the project, and that they "had permission to enter" from some higher authority. MP's did the right thing imo.

I agree. Not seeing the big deal here. If it's public property, or anything that can be seen from public property (such as from omg streets!) then there's not a whole lot you can do to prevent people from taking pictures.
